winbind-3.0.9 + suse 9.1
I just updated to samba-3.0.9 on suse 9.1. All packages from the suse ftp server were installed including the heimdal rpm updates. I am using "security=ads". The new smbd, nmbd and winbindd started OK but I ran into the following errors: filesrv1:~ # wbinfo -t checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed error code was NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME (0xc0000122) Could not check

samba-3.0.20a: winbind with "disable netbios = yes"?
Hello, I'm trying to use ntlm_auth and winbindd to authenticate users against a Windows 2003 AD server. Despite having "disable netbios yes", winbindd insists on doing one NetBIOS exchange on UDP port 138 on startup. If I block this port "wbinfo -t", "wbinfo -a username", and ntlm_auth request fail with: error code was NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME

I'm having problems with winbindd and a NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME message. Random but persistent USB disconnect/reconnect with MGE Pulsar Ellipse Premium
Hi, My UPS is MGE Pulsar Ellipse Premium 1200VA, connected on USB port, usbhid-ups driver. Using simply KNotify about UPS connection states I noticed that sometimes unpredictably a notification appears that the USB connection to the UPS is lost and a few seconds later another notification appears that the connection is restored. And this repeats to infinity. The only way to get out of it is to

wbinfo -t: NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME error
samba-3.0.21b on FreeBSD 6.0 and NT4.0 as a PDC. After joining to a domain I can get a users list and a groups list with wbinfo -u|-g but authentication does not work and when I try wbinfo -t I've got the message: checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed error code was NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME (0xc0000122) Could not check secret Just one time it worked after I've restarted

o2net patch that avoids socket disconnect/reconnect
This fix modifies o2net layer behavior which seems to trigger some DLM race issues during umount/evictions that needs to be fixed as well. I am working on the dlm issues but meanwhile please review this patch. Thanks, --Srini

CyberPower usbhid-ups continuously disconnects/reconnect
I have had a similar problem to many other people for the last few months with my Cyberpower UPS. It was working properly after reboot about one in five times; the rest of the time it would endlessly disconnect and reconnect, according to syslog messages. The latest I was able to find towards a solution is http://www.mail-archive.com/nut-upsuser at lists.alioth.debian.org/msg06671.html The root

winbind's libads/ldap_utils.c repeatedly says 'failed to reconnect (Timed out)'
I'm repeatedly needing to restart winbind v3.0.22 on ubuntu server v6.10. The reason why is that it fails to get group info. The passwd info is still accessible; it just can't figure out what groups a person is in. I'm using idmap backend = ad , and winbind nss info = sfu. Looking in /var/log/samba/log.wb-ADDOMAINNAME, I see many lines at seemingly randomly time intervals that read

Winbind problem - 3.0.20a and NT4 domain
All - We are using 3.0.20a on SLES 9 and are trying to configure a member server for our NT4 domain. The wbinfo commands (-u and -g) show correct information. The getent commands (passwd and group) work fine also. If Samba is running without winbind, I can see the shares in the config file (net view \\xxxxxxxx) from a PC. With winbind running I get an error message about the computer name

pam_winbind didn't work after DC restarted, had to restart winbindd
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, this night our DC was restarted (controlled), however my debian machine with samba 3.0.22 stopped doing authentication on all services relying on pam_winbind. I traced it back that winbindd, for some reason, didn't worked properly anymore. All I got in the log was a message from pam_winbindd: Sep 1 07:23:17 entwicklung pam_winbind[15896]:

Shares get disconnected and cannot reconnect over VPN
Hello samba, I have an issue with OpenVPN 2.0 and Samba 3.0.14a. My setup consists in a routed VPN (thus server and clients are on different subnets) between a linux OpenVPN 2.0 server and some Windows 2000 VPN clients. Samba is the PDC and is a WINS server. The VPN clients work, broswing works, and I see the clients registering on the server's WINS in

So What I''d like to do is catch that exception and then reconnect to the database. Hwo do I do this? I saw a reconnect! method, but I have no idea which object to run that on how how to actually use it. Here is

The reconnect timer can be adjusted in 1.0.31?
Hi, When the meta connection get lost, it’ll be reconnect like below: Trying to re-establish outgoing connection in 5 seconds, and if it’s failed, then the timer will be increased for another try. My question is, how to adjust the reconnect timer, in some cases, the reconnect delay for a while(increase to something longer) will be beneficial for the unstable connection.

The reconnect timer can be adjusted in 1.0.31?
Hi, Guus I noticed th default reconnect for the first time is 5s, if failed the timer will be increase, I would like to know if this timer can be adjusted? The Max Timeout you mentioned seems not exactly the one, from the description below, it looks to me it is the total time for connect to be re-established, if not it trying other tinc daemon? Different tinc deamons have nothing related to

Postgresql Reconnect on connection failure
Currently if asterisk loses its connection to the postgresql it does not attempt to reconnect. I have searched all over for a setting that would have asterisk attempt to reconnect but I can not find anything. Is there something I am missing? Thanks! -Eric -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
