Need clarification
Hi,
I'm trying to run samba 2.2.6 + OpenLDAP as user/group
database ( not /etc/passwd). nss_ldap+pam_ldap is installed and
working OK, as I can login using ssh, or trough
console with one of ldap user.
But trying to connect to samba, when samba is ran as
#samba -d 2 -i
I get:
...
init_sam_from_ldap: User [ldapuser] does not ave a uid!
pass_check_smb failed - invalid password for user

[Re: Dovecot - with LDAP auth backend]
Hi Timo,
What I did actually was change option (D) to the following below, or do I have to remove this one altogether?
plugin {
quota = maildir
}
Then added the attribute mailquota=10240 as I had defined in my dovecot schema
And when I did a tried to run getquota "" or getquotaroot inbox (via telnet localhost 143), it would return me a "no quota" message.

/usr/bin/id behavior since CentOS 5.2 upgrade
Hi list,
Since the upgrade to 5.2, when I log into my server with a ldap account
I have these 2 errors messages:
-bash: [: =: unary operator expected
-bash: [: -le: unary operator expected
After investigation, the trouble come from two scripts in /etc/profile.d:
/etc/profile.d/krb5-workstation.sh
/etc/profile.d/vim.sh
The problem is with the test where the command "id" is involved,

activeLDAP - ldap_mapping - wildcard
Hi,
I''ve a problem and I don''t know if it is solvable with activeLDAP. Here
is an example of the tree structure of our LDAP server. The structure
isn''t exactly like that, but is similare and I can already access almost
any informations of a user when I''m logging as this user. The probleme
come when using the belong_to, has_many and ldap_mapping has you will

Kolmogorov-Smirnov-Test on binned data, I guess gumbel-distributed data
Hi R-Users,
I read some texts related to KS-tests. Most of those authors stated, that
KS-Tests are not suitable for binned data, but some of them refer to 'other'
authors who are claiming that KS-Tests are okay for binned data.
I searched for sources and can't find examples which approve that it is okay
to use KS-Tests for binned data - do you have any links to articles or

LMTP: userdb lookup - user-filter with variables
I tried to use dovcots lmtp instead of dovecot-lda.
postfix has in master.cf ... dovecot-lda -f ... -d ${user} to separate
the user part from user at hostname.domain.
So lookup of "user" succeeds in userdb (LDAP) done by dovecot-lda.
I have always local addresses like to=<user at hostname.domain>
postfix/lmtp[6579]: [ID 197553 mail.info] B3CDA66A16:

terribly naive question
Dear R-Representative:
I am very new to R and I have to admit that I am not the cleverest of
users. So, please bear with me. I have installed R on my Mac OS 8.6.
I am interested in eventually using the packages -- many useful ones
have been downloaded with the basic R software. I have looked through
some of the manuals, however, I have not yet found how to access the
commands in these packages.

Stream HD video
You can find a guide by entering "Theora Cookbook TSS" in to google. It
should be the first return. It is in the section marked live streaming.
Additionally you can use VLC media player to stream to icecast although I am
not aware of a guide for this.

I change my video source to theora with this comand: ffmpeg -i in.wmv
-vcodec libtheora -sameq -acodec libvorbis -ac 2 -sameq out.ogg
Now I have a theora video. How can I stream this video with Icecast2?
Is there any guide?
Thanks for all and best regards.

I want to export data to LaTeX. As I want to employ the data as freely as
possible I want to avoid the xtable-command and instead generate some List

LDAP direct authentication Problem
Hi
I need to authenticate all the asterisk users from the LDAP server instead
of from sip.conf.
If anybody already have done this then please guide.
I tried to integrate authenticate asterisk users from LDAP using the open
source project astirectory1.2.0.
After using the astirectory1.2.0 , now when the asterisk starts then it
registeres with the LDAP. Following logs shows it.
