NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD with multiple concurrent connects from same IP Address.
We are having a problem with SAMBA v 3.0.13 on Linux where a windows client
(single IP address) makes multiple connections at the same time
(different processes) to copy files onto our SAMBA server. As many as 20
simultaneous connections/file transfers may be occurring from the
same client IP address.
Some of the files succeed, and some fail. The windows client reports
that the directory does

Log shows NT4 for an ADS domain
I'm trying to learn about the interactions between SAMBA and win2k DCs. The
eventual goal is to have a Win2k server with ADS working with a freeBSD
SAMBA server. I've used the setup from
http://oslabs.mikro-net.com/fbsd_samba.html as the basis for what I've done
so far. Winbind seems to work and I can show users and groups using wbinfo
although I see some things in the logs that I

Parsing the icecast stats log
Hello All,
I wrote a PHP function to parse the icecast stats log and return as much information in a structured array as possible (well, as much as I care about, anyway). Because the stats log is not easily machine-parseable, I thought this might be useful to somebody. The log is parsed using Perl-compatible regexps, so it should easily port.
I have only my own setup to test this on, so

Hello,
Last night there appears to have been a loop in the network of my colocation provider. Somehow this loop/packet flood caused tinc to crash. I guess that, even though it seems to have restarted, it did not manage to reconnect/re-open the tap device/something else went wrong; the machine itself was communicating with the internet but I could not access it over the VPN.

Merry Christmas, all Asterisk users!
It's the day before Christmas here in Sweden, actually the night before at this time...
We celebrate Xmas on the 24th, so I'm about to log off and switch my Asterisk into
"merry-christmas-mode" with the yet undocumented CLI command "frosty-mode on", a mode
where the PBX will connect all incoming extensions to the "ho-ho-ho" sound file and then randomly

How does WinXP pass username/password?: NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
I have a small network that includes two Linux computers and one Windows
XP Pro computer.
I'm trying to get share my Linux resources properly with the Windows
computer. If I set it for share level security and set a user name for
each share, along with guest ok, then I can get in as whichever user
I've set... even root.
I've tried a few scenarios with a basic smb.conf and I have

NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
Hi,
I have a problem with the NT domain password validation.
When I define a user a local Unix user with the same name like the Windows user the password
validation works fine:
[1999/10/27 19:52:19, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(488)
miriam (10.133.122.42) connect to service fax as user lp (uid=4, gid=501) (pid 18676)
The above service fax was configured with
force user = lp

wbinfo -a always failing with NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
Hello!
Please help! I have been googling and experimenting for the past few
days, but I can't get user authentications to work with my AD domain.
Fedora Core 2 running Samba 3.0.7-2.FC2
Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
After much fuss, I was able to get it to join the domain (had to
disable client signing).
"wbinfo -u" and "wbinfo -g" both work fine, and I can see

The "not fully working computer" serves as a print server for the
Window computers. You can log into it, but you cannot see it from
the Network Neighborhood. On some versions of Windows you cannot
find it through the "Find Computers" programs.

PDC and NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
I have Samba 3.4.11 + OpenLDAP (slapd 2.4.11) as domain controller for
small windows network. Everything works (almost) ok, but sometimes
clients report delays with access on shares on primary domain
controller (PDC) and sometimes I had problems with adding new
computers to domain.
In /var/log/message I found these errors:

Re: tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD - fixed
Thank you. Thank you, Michael.
I saved smb.con, smbpasswd, and smbusers.
I stopped smb.
I deleted the three samba packages from the system.
I re-installed the three samba packages (2nd cd of the set)
I moved my configuration files back in /etc/samba
I started smb and everything works.

Strange SAMBA Winbind behavior - WBC_ERR_AUTH_ERROR - NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
Hello All,
I am having a weird behavior and after 2 days of trying to fix it, I
just decided to ask the experts in this group!
I have a RHEL5 box running SAMBA 3.4.3-41.el5. Users authenticate via
Winbind to a Windows 2008R2 Domain controller.
Authentication is fine, users can log in but ...

logins fine, then not: NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
I've had samba in production for a few weeks, as follows:
samba 3.0.20b
openldap 2.2.13-4, idealx tools 0.9.1
red hat AS 4
clients: all XP sp2
Samba's the PDC, nothing fancy about the setup other than trying to use LDAP for
authentication.
So far everything's been mostly fine, then yesterday for some reason a number of my
users couldn't authenticate after logging out or
