Problem using 2.0.23 client in a domain with a Samba 2.0.20c PDC.
I have a samba PDC running 2.0.20c
I installed Samba 2.0.23 on a client joined to the domain.
With this combination, when I attempt to connect to a share on this client
from any host even the localhost results in the following:

Correct; there is no metadata handling capability in the current
mapping spec.

Browsing with duplicate names in multiple workgroups/subnets and multihome machines
You can see by the subject I've got an ugly problem. Even though I don't
have a Samba server anywhere near the network in question, nobody
understands browsing as well as the folks on the Samba team. :-)
Here's the situation: I've got two workgroups, FLINTSTONE and RUBBLE
which are on physically separate networks. FLINTSTONE has a Windows 2003

Asterisk not replacing private FROM ip with public IP in INVITE
Something perhaps noteworth, since this is a multihomed system I bound the transport to 172.31.253.4:5060
I don't *think* that would cause Asterisk to use that IP in the FROM...at least it shouldn't.

ADS WKGUID error
Hi List,
I'm wondering if someone can help me get past these errors Joining an
ADS Domain, using samba 3.0.14a & kerberos 1.3.5.
When I look at the debug output from the join attempt, it almost seems
as though The join is looking for an cn or something from the AD that
doesn't exist. I'm not an
Windows person and the AD admins are not around to help peep this out.
Can anyone

Asterisk not replacing private FROM ip with public IP in INVITE
I tried that (only needed to add rewrite_contact=yes) but it didn't help.
BTW, the CONTACT: line holds the correct ip! Only the FROM: line holds the wrong (private) IP.
I'm still learning SIP...but I assume the FROM should also hold the rewritten public IP. Just don't know how to force Asterisk to do that.

nmbd multihomed registration request must be directed at a WINS server error
Hi there,
I just got a new machine with Redhat Enterprise Workstation and samba
3.0.0-14 pre-installed. I am trying to connect it to my existing network
which has a redhat v8 samba v2 PDC controlling 16 or so win2k and winxp
machines.
In the nmbd log I get this error 3 times every 5 seconds or so:

Multihomed AC DC Server and subnets
Hello:
I am currently planning to divide our network in smaller subnets. Our
central server is a Samba AD DC File Server also acting as DC.
My plan is subnet our current network, add a new interface for each
subnet in the Samba File Server and configure it to listen in all new
interfaces.
Questions:
1 - Does this multihomed configuration have any drawback, specifically
because AD relies

Multihomed router problems
Hi all, i''m new at LARTC, and after reading the docs I found no solution to my
problem ...
On one side I have eth0 conected to the LAN, on the other side I have eth1
conected to a switch and to 3 DSL routers with 3 diferent providers, and also
eth2 conected to a cisco 2600 conected to a LDMS line.
I have readed the larct docs about multihomed conections to internet, but I''m
