samba configure not working
Hello, I'm having an issue compiling samba with-ads enabled. I've successfully compiled kerberosV5 and Openldap. I can the following line when compiling Samba ./configure --with-pam --with-ads --with-ldap=/usr/local/openldap --with-winbind --with-krb5 The configure fails due to not having ldap support. Any ideas? Rick Mattier Systems Analyst II Windriver Systems 120 Royall St

Configuring Samba with LDAP
Hello, I'm having problems configuring Samba to work using ADS. I've successfully compiled LDAP. When I try ./configure --with-pam --with-winbind --with-ads --with-krb5 --with-ldap It says "Active Directory support requires LDAP support" Are there any variables that need to be set? I've done --with-ldap=/usr/local/openldap (This the prefix for openldap). I'm

ADS and Samba
Hi, I'm trying to get Solaris running Samba 3.0.9 to join an Active Directory Domain. Are there steps on configuring Kerberos, and using the "NET" utility if there is one for Solaris? Samba w/ ADS support
Hello, I am currently trying to install Samba w/ ADS support on a series of Solaris 9 & 10 machines. I have tried compiling samba3, but some reason it will not compile with ADS support. I have compiled MIT krb5 and openldap previous to compiling Samba. I compiled openldap and installed it into /usr/local/openldap. Kerberos was compiled and installed into /usr/local/kerberos5. When

Bizarre failure of samba shares to XP
OK, this one is really strange, and I'm not sure where to go with it. Here's the setup ... Main box is running Debian testing/sarge with samba 3.0.5. Earlier it was 3.0.4 and 3.0.2. Very generic installation for home, acting as a file server for several XP Pro boxes, and everything has been running swimmingly. Using USER security, with users logging in to the XP boxes with the same ID

using Paraview "in-situ" with R?
At ORNL, we worked with VisIt (a sibling of Paraview, both funded largely by DOE) around 2016 and made an in situ demo with R. We used packages pbdMPI (on CRAN) and pbdDMAT (on GitHub/RbigData), which were in part built for this purpose. Later also the package hola (on GitHub/RbigData) was built to connect with adios2, which can do buffered in situ connections with various codes. But the VisIt

Problems with Samba and Windows 2003 Active Domain Server
Can somebody with experience making a RedHat Fedora Core 3 server with Samba installed work in a Windows 2003 Active Domain please give me some pointers? I have a small installation with one Windows 2003 Server running as a domain controller for about 10 Windows XP machines. This is working just fine. I decided that I wanted to add a RedHat Fedora Core 3 server as a Mail server, running Cyrus IMAP

Sangoma FXO/FXS cards?
Saw an ad in the latest Linux Journal for Sangoma's FXO/FXS analog cards. it was part of an ad for a reseller. I can't find anything on the resellers site or Sangoma's site either. Did the ad jump the gun or someting? Is this for real? Paul -- Paul Dugas, Computer Engineer Dugas Enterprises, LLC paul@dugas.cc phone: 404-932-1355 522 Black Canyon Park

dialing 0 in directory()
I've got a context in my dialplan like so but pressing 0 doesn't seem to be working. Instead of dropping out to the "o" extension, it's just returning to the start of the direcotry app. Same with star. Anyone see where I've gone awry? R packages to send plottable data to external apps
I was curious what R packages, or indeed any other applications, exist to plot streamed data from arbitrary data generators. It need not be publication quality plotting but it should be easy to use like an oscilloscope. I was working on something called datascope that I am using for 1D finite difference monitoring and recently interfaced it to freefem. I also created an R package. If there is

Strange Inbound Ring Handling
Got a wierd one that's reminding me of a problem mentioned in an earlier post but for the life of me, I can't find it. So... Inbound calls via a Voicetronix interface on my Asterisk box are being properly detected and routed to my dialplan as expected. It's a simple plan right now that rings a few internal Voicetronix and SIP stations. When the inbound line rings, it's ringing

Time stamps
I am new to SAMBA and I have what I'm not even sure is an issue. I am aware of the difference in time stamps between *nix and Windows. What I don't understand is this: I used touch to modify the time stamps of a large number of files on the file server from the server side to match the time in the file name. They were video files from my Digital Video Cam and the import program used

Bullet-proof FXO?
Been using a few different FXO interfaces (X100P, Voicetronix, and SPA-3000) at a couple sites and they've all run into nasty issues at times. I'm looking at moving one of my offices and am in the market for a solution for connecting 4 FXOs. I got excited about recent offerings from Digium and Sangoma in the way of new cards but I hear they're causing troubles for more than a few.

strange behavior when reading csv - line wraps
Dear All, I am observing a strange behavior and searching the archives and help pages didn't help much. I have a csv with a variable number of fields in each line. I use dataPoints <- read.csv(inputFile, head=FALSE, sep=";",fill =TRUE); to read it in, and it works. But - some lines are long and 'wrap', or split and continue on the next line. So when I check the dim of

Echo on SPA-3000 FXO
I've had an spa3k in service here at the house for a while now. After some initial wrangling, it's been working okay. I've had to reboot it a couple times and have noticed something rather annoying though. My setup is pretty simple and, dare I say, common. I have the SPA-3000 "inline" between my incoming POTS line and the internal house phone. It's setup to deliver
