Smbclient browse shares Windows 2003?
Hello, Using the CIFS client I'm able to successfully mount shares on Windows 2003, however for a script I'm using, I need to be able to browse to determine what shares are on various Windows 2003 servers using SMBCLIENT -L. I assume this has to do with the SMB signing that is required be default on W2K3. Is there any way to get around this besides altering group policy/registry settings

Problem accessing samba fileserver with smbclient using Kerberos
I have a setup with a w2k3 AD and Samba 3.0.15pre2 as fileservers on Linux. I created two AD computer objects and used ktpass to create the Keberos keys. The keytab has the following entries host/linux.test.com@TEST.COM mapped to a computer account linux-host$ for general Kerberos services (ftp,ssh,..) cifs/linux.test.com@TEST.COM mapped to a computer account linux-cifs$ for Windows 2003/XP

windows server 2003 shares (smbmount & signing or cifs & kerberos)
hello everyone, the old problem persists :X I'm currently running Novell Linux Desktop 9 (SP2) featuring a 2.6.5series kernel. Smbclient (3.0.14a-0.4-SUSE) seems to support signing negotiation.. at least the following command works just fine: smbclient -k -L //hostname turning signing off manually (-S off) ends up in the common error message cli_negprot: SMB signing is mandatory and we have

smbclient from linux to Win2k3 server AD share
We are trying to mount a dfs share on a Redhat 9 machine that's served from our W2K3 AD server. We've been banging our heads against this for quite a while, so I thought it time to run up the white flag and ask here. We've been trying variations of this: # mount -t smbfs -o username=OURDOMAIN\administrator,password=adminpasswd //servername/dfs /mnt/dfs and we've been getting

SMB Signing issues... smbclient works, mount does not...
Hi All, I seem to have exactly the same problem which was described in this thread a while ago. I have gone through every piece of information I was able to find on mailing list archives but all I found was people reporting similar problems and not a solution to it. As in the original discussion if I use smbclient it works fine but if I use mount.cifs it does not work at all. To make smbclient

Windows 2003 AD/Kerberos Ticket error
I'm attempting to configure Samba 3.0.4 to work with Windows 2003 Active Directory, mapping users' home directories automatically. Currently we use this method in production with Windows 2000 but wish to migrate to 2003. The problem seems to be Kerberos related. I was able to join the Linux box (RedHat 9) to the AD. I can do a "kinit <username>" successfully. Klist shows a

"smbclient -k" fails, used to work - kinit still ok
Hi All, I've run into a strange problem, which so far I haven't seen reported by anyone else recently. A while back I set up a Linux box (SUSE 9.2) to authenticate (using kerberos) against a w2k3 AD domain. A nice side effect of this was that I could use "smbclient -k" and save typing in my password again. I didn't have cause to use smbclient for some time, until the other
