Hi all.. i'm new to this samba things I was wondering, is there any tools that available, i mean in open source term in purpose to measure the samba performance.. What I mean in performance is a software that can measure I/O operation, file throughput , network traffic and etc..etc.. Actually I want to compare samba and SMB implementation in windows. Is there anyone has done this before

Hello, I have couple questions regarding Samba. 1. In the smb.conf, what does "security = DOMAIN" mean? 2. I would like to samba into the firewall so that people can't connect through TCP/IP. Hello. I have Samba 3.6.4 with LDAP backend with domain logons enabled. Long time I was running 3.5.1? from Debian Squeeze backports without any problems. Few days ago I decided (after testing) to upgrade to 3.6.4, also from Debian backports. Next morning nobody could login and nmbd was eating up a enitre cpu core. Killing nmbd with -9 and restarting samba solved the problem. Same happened

Jup, 64 Bit Kernel build is done now and works, but 32 Bit kernel config is different, as I use 64 Bit in Dom0 and DomU, 32 Bit only in DomU incl. DomU with DVB etc. XEN options are the same, it''s only the selection of drivers... Andrew, any idea? Boris, do you know a safe way to create a 64 Bit config out of a 32 Bit one? Dear All I'm about migrating Samba 2.2.8 to 3.0.13 on Sparc, Solaris 8. Compilation and Installation without any problem. Runs fine with exception of 2.2.8-user validation in the domain (no problems with validation of WXP- and W2K-Client Machines, newly set users (./smbpasswd -a username) works perfectly ). I simply have copied smbpasswd 2.2.8 to the diferent directory of Samba 3.0.13.

Under wine versions .19 and .20 (only 2 I've tried), I get sticking keys resulting in uncontrollable spinning (or running or whatever key gets stuck.
