Re: ocfs2 and configfs.ko..fixed...but gnuparted has issues....
I was able to get the source code for ocfs2 and compile it. This worked and created the necessary .ko files Now I have to figure out why gnu parted 1.6.15 has bugs. when I try a partprobe on a partitioned firewire maxtor drive mount -t ocfs2 /dev/sdb1 /u01/oradata/orcl It says no such device.... Any ideas anyone?... Regards, Mandar Vengurlekar ----- Original Message ----- From: Mandar P

RE: pam_mount ( was RE: Help with Winbind )
After a little experimentation, I've come up with this: create a directory as a temp mount point (chmod 777) called /home.domainuser or something similar and assign the template homedir variable to it. This works for the first login, but I'm looking for advice on how I can rm -rf the whole thing to clean it up for the next user. Additionally, I noticed that it doesn't actually mount

RE: pam_mount ( was RE: Help with Winbind )
Well, I've started to look at pam_mount and it seems it doesn't compile under RH8.0 because it's missing pam_modules.h. I've located that in the source for pam. It's found in pam-0.75-46.8.0.src.rpm. The error I get is during the configure part: checking for security/pam_modules.h... no configure: error: You are missing security/pam_modules.h I'm not so good with

Help with Winbind
I've been trying for weeks to get winbind working with RedHat Linux 8.0. I've got everything setup per the winbind docs on http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.html#WINBIND. I've successfully joined my NT4 domain with smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r PDC -U Administrator. Running wbinfo -u returns my domain user list, as well as wbinfo -g returning my domain groups. getent

win 2k3 / XP Pro to Samba 3.0.1 open failed, result=-512
I'm having some confusing problems transferring approximately 16GB, in about 541,000 individual files. What is happening is that I am starting with a blank destination directory on a gentoo system running samba 3.0.1, and pulling from one of two windows systems. The problems come in that each time I use rsync (version 2.5.7) over samba to keep the data on the gentoo system's side in sync

weird characters in files created by gnome login on samba share
Hello, I just tried a gnome login with an empty home directory on a samba mounted directory, and this resulted in several files with strange characters in the filenames in the end. (as created by the initial gnome login) I cannot reproduce this by hand, and it certainly does not happen when I do the login on a local directory, or when I copy that local directory to the samba directory. I use

pam_ldap problem on an LDAP+SMB configuration
Hi there. This is my first post to this list, I hope I can help you in the future. By now, I'm the one who needs help :) I've been trying to configure a Fedora Core 4 box to use samba + LDAP. I followed instructions of http://www.idealx.org/prj/samba/smbldap-howto.en.html but it seems like I'm having problems on the pam_ldap layer: when I go to step 4.5

I am getting this message when trying to access Samba shares on a linux system. I have 2 linux computers and one Win XP system. I can see/access/read/write on all the WinXP shares from all systems. unable to get domain list of KVM guests from libvirt as non-root user
I have a python script that monitors the guest VMs on a servers running Xen, but the script doesn't work properly on a server I just built with KVM. The script runs as a non-root user (same on all servers) and simply gathers some details on the status and names of the domains running on the host. The Xen and KVM servers are running CentOS 5.4 x86_64 and are using the same version of
