Help with RHEL4 and AD 2003 Authentication
Hello,
I've been reading up on lots of documents that mention the different ways to
do things as far as joining a linux machine to AD and authentication. I've
tried most of them but its not helping at all. I've included my config files
for smb.conf, krb5.conf, pam.d/system-auth and the applicable
nsswitch.conflines. For security reasons, i've obscured part of the
domain name. Any

s3 winbind loosing kerbers ticket
I have 2 CentOS 5.6 x86_64 servers configured with with samba 3.5.4,
CTDB, GFS and DRDB in an avtive, active cluster. After some time winbind

Winbind ADS Issues w/ *TONS* of Pre-Research
Samba Team,
I've been trying to get my Samba server to authenticate users against a
Windows 2000 Active Directory domain controller, and it just doesn't work.
I've encountered a TREMENDOUS amount of postings from people who have run
into the same issue, and there's never any responses with a resolution.
I must have viewed more than 500 postings over the course of the day.

wbinfo -a not working
Hello,

I'm trying to connect my Debian 4 samba box to my Windows 2003Server Active
Directory.
I successfully joined the domain, with net ads join. Wireshark captures a
lot of packets going over the wire, and I get the message "joined the domain
successfully". In my AD, under 'computers', the samba box appeared. So that
all works.

Struggling with Samba + AD member config (winbind auth failing) :(
Hello Samba List,
I am struggling with connecting samba to our AD servers. Thought it will be
easy as before but I was wrong.
DCs:
Windows Server 2012 (2x) with AD Domain Forest/Level 2003 NATIVE.
+ SBS 2003 (will be removed, migrating from SBS AD to new 2012 servers)
-standard AD schema with exchange attributes
DID NOT INSTALL UNIX attributes. This is required for SSSD. Thought i would

Member Server in Active Directory
I'm trying to join a Samba 3.0.4 (compiled from source on Debian) to an
Active Directory as a member server. I believe Kerberos is configured
correctly as kinit creates a ticket for the realm. Executables appear to have
support for Kerberos and LDAP (smbd -b | grep KRB and grep LDAP) return OK.
When I try to join the AD with
   net ads join -U myadminusername

RedHat+Samba+Winbind to ADS
Hi,
I 've a gateway and I want to use squid authenticated with Windows 2000
Active Directory users.
I've a development platform with Debian/Sarge as gateway, and it works.
(samba 3.0.10-1 and Kerberos 1.3.6-1)
On the other side the production platform uses RedHat Enterprise AS3,
initially with Samba 3.0.6 and Kerberos 1.2.7-28. I was not able to use

ADS Join and Insufficient Access
My agency is moving all users and computers to a new domain. Our current domain uses AD and the new domain will use AD. My current samba servers are running 3.0.20a with ADS security with winbind on Debian Stable (Sarge) with no problems.
I set up a test samba server using 3.0.20b, the new krb5.conf and smb.conf.
kinit works fine. ("Authenticated to Kerberos v5")

Suse 9.1 Samba
I have been trying for two weeks to get onto a Win2k domain which has
active directory with no success. The Suse YAST samba client will not do
ADS, only domain, server, or user, so I went to the command line stuff I
found the the Samba documentation.
I can do kinit and get back the following:
