Howtos: Deploying Rails on Windows servers
After a lot of work (and much promising) I have written instructions
on various methods to deploy Rails applications in a Windows
environment. For those of you who are not stuck with Windows, this
won''t matter too much to you, but I think this is really useful for
those in Windows shops.
Topics covered:
* Serving Multiple Rails Applications on Windows with Apache and

OSX 10.9.2, samba 4.1.6-Ubuntu vs Microsoft Office 2011 and Read-Only files
Upgraded from samba 3.6.20 on gentoo to samba 4.1.6 on Ubuntu Trusty. Since the upgrade all attempts to open Microsoft Office files results in the file being opened Read-Only. Found multiple posts from multiple sites dealing with similar problems.

SV: callback script?
Thanks.
I'm able to getting the asterisk calling back to my cellphone. But when I get to the authentication I get this message when I start to dial in my password:
NOTICE[5178]: rtp.c:509 ast_rtp_read: Unknown RTP codec 96 received
Is this a DTMF failure of some sort?
Thanks again.

Thank you for the response.
Why do you say this has nothing to do with samba?
The samba logs indicate the problem is with samba.
The sssd logs show everything working except for samba.
I changed my smb.conf to default setting and setting that should not be there (as explained in your

setting up swat
I've looked in /usr/local/samba/swat for help
and even the samba source docs and can't
find anything on setting up swat.
I've also looked at samba.org/samba/docs,
but can find a swat setup doc.
Can some please point me in the right direction?
thanks,

Dave clients accessing Samba
Hi,
We have about 2 dozen Mac OS9 computers running Dave 2.5.3 to access smb
resources. Our print server, running Samba 2.2.7 (w/domain
authentication), has no user accounts. PCs access the printers and print
just fine, but the Macs using Dave get an authentication error of invalid
user/password. They can access resources on the win2003 PDC.
Any idea what's going on here specific to the

Matrix/Table col headings R 2.0.0
I have been looking at some 'table' examples in Peter Dalgaard's ISwR book, and I am confused by how to get right justification of my table headings when I use the tables() command. Compare the following:
# Produces right justfified column names
caff.marital=matrix(c(652,1537,598,242,36,46,38,21,218,327,106,67),nrow=3,byrow=T)

Hi,
I'm getting near a thousand error messages a day on only one of my two samba

[UNDER CONSTRUCTION] YAC? (Yet Another Capistrano)
My needs are far more modest than Capistrano''s capabilities. Also, when
working in a shared hosting environment, the Capistrano model can be
outside the capabilities allowed by the Web host.
I simply need to push selected directories (on a changed-file basis) out
to a server. I have about 80% of the code written to do this (I''m
considering YAC for the name, with a nod to

Why the as.integer() representation? I later pass the result into this
write.html.table(), and what I get is rows of as.integer()... when all I
want is the integer itself.

a sequence that wraps around
I'd like to have something like seq() where I can pass in a length of the
desired sequence and a right limit so that the sequence goes up to the limit and
then starts again from 1.

# what I want
seq(from=2, length.out=3, rlimit=3)

compatibility of load() in R 2.15.2
I have some large-ish files that are the output of save() from R 2.15.1, which
that version can load() just fine. After upgrading to 2.15.2, load() no longer
works on these files. Is this a known issue?

Software E.C. Along with Tellabs
Since putting my Tellabs EC into place around 2 weeks ago, the echo
problem has almost been eliminated. Reports of some very faint echo,
but everybody is happy.
My question is, if I were to also turn on the Asterisk Software EC,
would this remove any residual echo that may make it past the Tellabs
Hardware EC.
Thanks,
Doug

2 issues using SAMBA as a print server
I am using SAMBA/Lprng to do printer accounting for charge-back. There
are two technical issues I have not been able to resolve.
1. When attempting to connect to the printer from a Windows box in the
domain (the SAMBA server is simply a server that's a member of the domain,
it is not the PDC) I get the message that the server does not have the
appropriate driver and then it pops up a setup

The above url hows 3.0_3.0.2+hg9646-1 being accepted, but
