All works except MS Office 2003 Pro navigation of win . shortcuts to shares
Hi, That 4. a.m. periodicity is logrotate restarting your samba in order to rotate it's logs... The "Processing section..." appears everytime a new smdb starts ( every new client connection to server, samba restarting, etc). If you want to force it, just restart your samba. Remember that windows caching may get in the way. So if you really want to be sure, restart also the Win

Microsoft Office 2003 problems after successful install
I am using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex. Excel opens but, sticks at the splash screen till I press Alt+F4 to close the application because nothing responds except the minimize and maximize buttons and the menus. Once the splash screen disappears then Excel opens a spreadsheet. Excel appears to work okay the next time I open it. When I try Access I get a message saying Excel has not been registered

Unable to map more than 4 workspaces to keyboard shortcuts on C7.
Hi, I have a new install of c7 with the gnome desktop. I run it with 12 workspaces. Normally I create the shortcuts so that ctrl+f1 maps to workspace 1 ctrl+f2 maps to f2, etc. When I goto applications -> settings -> keyboard -> shortcuts -> navigation, I only have the ability to define "Switch to workspace" 1 through 4. There does not appear to be a way to map keyboard

Preventing Wine from creating shortcuts
Hey, I'm new to the forums but by no means a noob but it's come to the point lately where I'm creating scripts (bash mixed with autoit) where I create a new bottle, silently install the program and then do any fixes etc in the script making it all completely automated (as i tend to re-install my system a lot) The issue I'm having though is the shortcuts wine creates Desktop

Menu Bar KeyBoard Shortcuts.
Hello, I''m trying to use a wxMenuBar from XRC built with DialogBlocks on Windows. My first example had the menu being called from the Frame because I couldn''t figure out how to call the menu from my XRC. Shortcuts worked nicely. Example 1: menu.append(Wx::ID_EXIT, "E&xit\tAlt-X", "Quit this program") tool.append(Wx::ID_PHOTO, "&MS Picture

Possible to implement Textmate key shortcuts in RadRails?
The Rails demo videos is a great showoff on how productive Textmate editor is. The 15 minute build-a-blog example should be twice as long if there had been no keyboard shortcuts in Textmate. Unfortunately, I use windows and thus RadRails. Does anyone know how to implement the same keyboard shortcut into RadRails? Sebastian Friedrich made an overview of the keyboard shortcuts:

custom shortcuts
I'm trying to define my long time keyboard shortcuts in compiz on a new FC6 system with gnome. I want <Alt>n to run a shell and <Shift><Alt>p for pan. In metacity I could set the shell shortcut from System->Preferences->keyboard shortcuts, and for something like pan (which was not in the menu) I could do it in gconf-editor (apps->metacity, etc.). Since neither the

Windows shortcuts (Fear server)
Is there a way to make windows shortcuts work under wine. The Fear server exe (a FPS game) looks for a server config file somewhere in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ which is a shortcut in the directory the server.exe is located in. I've tried naming a folder the same as the shortcut name in windows but that didn't work. I've also tried executing it with wine fearserver.exe

New kernel and keyboard shortcuts
Has anyone else noticed or had a problem with keyboard shortcuts not working properly after the last kernel update? I'm finding on my 64-bit home system that even <alt><f4> no longer works in my terminal windows, and none of the normal keyboard shortcuts in OOo work properly either. Just curious if it's just me.... mhr -------------- next part -------------- An HTML

Instance variable shortcuts to fixture data are not working?
Hi, I am following the Agile Web Development with Rails book and it looks like either book is wrong or edge rails are broken. I am trying to access fixture data through instance shortcuts. I.e. customers.yml through @customers and it is not assigned. Anybody knows why? Sergei -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Windows shortcuts and permissions
I have lots of LNK files in a Samba share, which users have been creating for some time. Now we have set different permissions to folders and some of the shortcuts don't work because of that. I have read that mount --bind can be used to give access to a forbidden folder to someone, but this can only be done by root and in the command-line. Is there a way to accomplish this with a graphical
