Configuring Samba with LDAP
Hello,
I'm having problems configuring Samba to work using ADS. I've
successfully compiled LDAP. When I try ./configure --with-pam
--with-winbind --with-ads --with-krb5 --with-ldap It says "Active
Directory support requires LDAP support" Are there any variables that
need to be set? I've done --with-ldap=/usr/local/openldap (This the
prefix for openldap). I'm

samba configure not working
Hello,
I'm having an issue compiling samba with-ads enabled. I've
successfully compiled kerberosV5 and Openldap. I can the following line
when compiling Samba ./configure --with-pam --with-ads
--with-ldap=/usr/local/openldap --with-winbind --with-krb5
The configure fails due to not having ldap support. Any ideas?

Samba w/ ADS support
Hello,
I am currently trying to install Samba w/ ADS support on a series of
Solaris 9 & 10 machines. I have tried compiling samba3, but some reason
it will not compile with ADS support. I have compiled MIT krb5 and
openldap previous to compiling Samba. I compiled openldap and installed
it into /usr/local/openldap. Kerberos was compiled and installed into
/usr/local/kerberos5. When

Time stamps
I am new to SAMBA and I have what I'm not even sure is an issue. I am
aware of the difference in time stamps between *nix and Windows. What I
don't understand is this: I used touch to modify the time stamps of a
large number of files on the file server from the server side to match
the time in the file name. They were video files from my Digital Video
Cam and the import program used

help with icecast2 & ices2
Hi
I'm trying to setup a new streaming server for us. We are a radio
station which we stream live and have archive files (mp3). We currently
are using icecast-1.3.12 on solaris9 and darkice-0.13.1 also on
solaris9. I have setup two new servers using icecast-2.2.0 on solaris9
and ices-2.0.1 on solaris9. I'm not sure if I have setup the conf files
correct (see attached files) but I am

unexplained error (code 255)
Everything worked, files transferred fine however a -vvv reveals that
the process did not end clean. The error is not seen with -v or even
-vv. Any insight? rsync version 2.5.5 protocol version 26, running on
Solaris 8.

bug (filelist) for platforms solaris and darwin (macosx) and *not* linuxi386
I have found a nasty bug when a file, which is in some of many sources,
shall be copied to a target.
The linux-Version works well but rsync 2.5.{2|5|6} under solaris9 (gcc
2.95.3) and darwin (gcc 3.1) do not. The decision which file (out of which
src) shall be copied depends on the number of src dirs given on the command
line.
This bug bytes us very hard, because we decided to rely on rsync

How to speed up a for() loop
Dear all,
Does anyone have any idea on how to speed up the for() loop below.
Currently it takes approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Because of the size of Nsim and N, simulating a multivariate normal
(instead of simulating Nsim times a vector of N normal distributions)
would require too much memory space.
Many thanks for your kind help,
Simona

[re-post] Printing issues. 2.2.7, Solaris9
Hi There
Apologies for re-posting this. I am still at a dead end. Sun "Don't
Support Samba." I have seen nothing in any of the Doc's out there ( If
it is I'd be happy to accept an RTFM ) and need to get this to work.
Any suggestions or hints would be VERY welcome.
I run a Samba (Version 2.2.7) Print server on a Solaris 9 box.
Setup is pretty simple. There are

Unable to build with working iconv support on Solaris9/x86
Hi all,
Have had a frustrating time trying to get R 2.5.1 running happily on
Solaris9/x86, the problems seem to stem mainly from libiconv
support. After a couple of hours of experimenting, I came across the
following combination, note that iconv (the program, but not the
library) exists in the Solaris base system, I've manually installed
the full GNU distribution in

Sangoma FXO/FXS cards?
Saw an ad in the latest Linux Journal for Sangoma's FXO/FXS analog cards.
it was part of an ad for a reseller. I can't find anything on the
resellers site or Sangoma's site either. Did the ad jump the gun or
someting? Is this for real?

dialing 0 in directory()
I've got a context in my dialplan like so but pressing 0 doesn't seem
to be working. Instead of dropping out to the "o" extension, it's
just returning to the start of the direcotry app. Same with star.
Anyone see where I've gone awry?

Samba 3.0.23c Install on Solaris9
Hello. I have been trying to find an answer to a problem that has
plagued our systems. I am trying to upgrade from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23c. I
have been able to compile,
but when I go to join it to the AD domain, I keep getting this familiar
error that many others have noted but have not posted many solutions to.
