vampire fails because of Debian smbldap-tools problem
Hi people,
As usual I've tried a number of different approaches to this problem
and can't figure it out. I don't have enough knowledge. Every time I do
net rpc vampire I get this crap spewed at me:
Use of uninitialized value in substitution (s///) at
/usr/share/perl5/smbldap_tools.pm line 106, <CONFIGFILE> line 233.

Groups and sambaSIDList
I have a problem with one samba 3.0.24 pdc using ldap with nss etc,
sharing works fine, but ownership and the security tab seems crippled,
and usrmgr.exe complains about "the specified local group does not
exist" (of course without saying which group) so I dived in to check
I found filters like this one below in the ldap log - is that to support
nested groups? There are no groups with

domain admin
Hi !
I'm desperately looking for an answer here...
I've been fighting all week-end with samba-3.0 and there's still
something I can't do...
Basically: how can I add some of my users to the Domain admin group ?
I use FreeBSD-5.1+samba3.0RC3.
My group maps:
Admins du domaine (S-1-5-21-xxxx-512) -> domainadmins
Utilisa. du domaine (S-1-5-21-xxxx-513) -> domainusers

Using LDAP and Unix Group Group Mappings
Hello all,
I could not find anything in the discussion groups or documentation
about using LDAP and Unix group mappings.
The documentation states that in order to map unix groups to samba
groups, you need to use the net group add command. However, I have an
ldap backend and all my groups, that I care about are in LDAP.
So I have a group called mainwdev.

Group membership
I am using Samba PDC with OpenLDAP2 and smbldap-tools. As part of my
logon.bat, I call a script called ifmember.exe. This script can list out the
groups a user is a member of. It is reporting that my root user is a member
of the group 'engr.' I don't know if this is a bug with ifmember.exe or if
it's an issue in Samba or in LDAP. Here is some relevant data:

Problem with Cisco Phones
Possibly slightly off topic, has anyone ever had Cisco 79xx Series phones come up with "cannot complete conference" errors when trying to conference two calls together?

Greetings!
I created a Samba/OpenLDAP/smbldap-tools Primary Domain Controller. So far
I am able to do the folowing:
1. Using USRMGR,EXE to administrating users and groups.
2. Adding Windows 2000, XP workstation on the fly.
3. PDBEDIT/SMBLDAP-TOOLS/GQ all works as they suppose to.
4. LDAP autheticate unix accounts.
However, I am not able to to the following:

Réf. : Net groupmap fails
Stephanie,
Thank you for your help. I tryed what you suggest but no luck.. I get
this:
root@lnxsrvr2:~# /usr/local/samba/bin/net groupmap add ntgroup="Domain
Admins" unixgroup="Domain Admins" rid=512
Can't lookup UNIX group Domain Admins
Is there something with initial compiling samba 3.0.0 that would disable
this? All the documentation that I've seen makes it look so

Polycom SoundStation 6000 Dropping Registration
Hello,
I'm having a problem with a few Polycom SoundStation 6000s. Everything works fine, but they drop registration to asterisk after about maybe 30 minutes - the phone does not re-try to register and if you try to dial out on the phone it says "URI Dialing is Disabled"
Has anyone else had this issue? I'm running asterisk 11.7.0.

Caller ID Names
Are the phones exposed to the internet (even using NAT)? If so there is a good chance these calls are not coming through your PBX but are coming in direct from someone, usually scammers.
Polycom has a config option to disable accepting calls from unknown devices. No idea if Cisco has something similar.

Secondary groups from ldap
Hello,
I'm trying to configure my user_attrs using LDAP as the userdb so that
dovecot knows what secondary groups a user is a member of. The LDAP
backend is an Open Directory implementation, which stores secondary
group affiliations as memberUid attributes in
cn=groupname,cn=groups,dc=dns,dc=name,dc=server.
With ldapsearch, my query would be:
ldapsearch -x -b

Caller ID Names
Hi,
In my dialplan I have the following line.
same => n,Set(CALLERID(name)=Support)
I am expecting this to always set the caller id name to 'Support' - however, we are getting calls come in as "Anonymous" with the number as something like "unknown at unknown"
We're using Cisco 7945 phones - I possibly wonder if they are displaying this rather than asterisk
