Winbind issues with UID and GID mappings
I am having issues integrating a FC3 system with AD running on W2k3. I can not figure out why the user ID mappings and Group ID mappings are going stale. This is a generic FC3 install with all of the latest updates. login as: jgallagh Sent username "jgallagh" jgallagh@linman's password: Last login: Fri May 6 08:14:23 2005 from 192.168.168.2 id: cannot find name for group ID

But recently I installed SP2 on Win2k and did a samba upgrade to 2.2.3 and now the offline folders do not work any more. Everything is fine until I go offline, */CSC/ contains my offline files and everything seems fine, but when being offline I always get access denied messages when accessing

Computing loop trip counts with Scalar evolution
Hello. I tried to get the trip count of a loop with Scalar evolution. I got inspired from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13834364/how-to-get-loop-bounds-in-llvm . However the analysis described there doesn't work well for the second inner loop of thes function below (although if we declare Bcols a short it works well): void MatMul(int Arows, int Acols, int Brows, int

AD member ticket verify errors
I installed samba-3.0.9-1 on RedHat-AS3, configured it as a member server, and joined the domain. wbinfo -u and -g work. When I brows to the samba share from Windows XP client, I see the shares, and my home directory is listed, but I am prompted for a password when I try to use the share. No password works. The samba log for the client session shows:

Problem with name resolution (I think)
Dear all, I believe I have a problem with name resolution and I wonder if anyone here might have a cure for it or can point me to the right direction? It is a fairly small network (about 30 client computers) but it seems to be only one client computer (XP service pack 2) that has the problem. This is what happens: The client brows the network and find the samba server and start browsing the

Dial in accounts
Eric, I am busy trying to grasp the browse list concept. We have subnets and dial-in accounts. From what I have read you may have to get your Linux box act as aWINS server and have to dial-up user use the wins server to resolve names on the brows list. The browse list is updated every 12-15 minutes ao your dial-up account might not show upat first. This has caused me some trouble at first as I

Regular users can't log in to Samba AD DC from Windows
Hi, I continue setting up my FreeBSD 11.0 machine with Samba 4.4.9 built from sources. (Actually, OS type and Samba version don't matter so much, as I have the same problem with Debian Jessie and Samba 4.5.5) I followed the Wiki very close. Some details from provisioning: ... Realm [RW.LAN]: Domain [RW]: Server Role (dc, member, standalone) [dc]: DNS backend (SAMBA_INTERNAL,

MS-Office 2003 crashes when loading documents
I've had a problem with opening existing documents for some time now, but attributed the problem to the number of upgrades my computer has been through. However last week I installed a copy of Ubuntu Maverick and KDE3.5 on a freshly-wiped machine, and I'm still having the same problems. Hopefully someone can help? I have a laptop running ubuntu karmic, and Office 2003 runs fine from

User authentication to AD200X, need local users?
I am trying to get user authentication in a 200X AD to have domain users see the samba shares (RH ES3, samba 3.0.9-1). I can see the shares, but when I try to access any of the shares, I get prompted for a username and password and this is what shows up in the log.winbindd file ------------------- [2004/12/29 08:17:37, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_user.c:winbindd_getpwnam(161) user 'robl' does
