Debian Sarge (testing), Samba 3.0 RC4 and Quickbooks
Debian and Samba Teams:
I'm having a really weird problem with Samba 3.0Beta2+RC4 on my Debian
Sarge (testing) system with Quickbooks Pro 2002 multi-user
version.
The version of my question is: Does anybody know what the proper global,
share, and permissions settings should be to support multi-user Quickbooks
on a Samba share?
The Long Version:
The Quickbooks data-file resides on it's

Finding DLL's
I've searched the web pages, docs and archives but I can't find the answer to
my question. How does wine locate dll's for a native windows application?
Specifically, I'm trying to get QuickBooks Pro to run and it can't find
IPROF32.dll eventhough it is in the same directory as the .exe and that
directory is in the path. Can somebody point me to the proper docs or

Quickbooks and Samba and Oplocks... OH MY
It is widely known that Quickbooks has a horrible storage engine, "requires" Windows to host multiuser access, etc. However, I've successfully been storing QuickBooks files on Samba shares at a handful of locations with no real issues other than slight performance degradation. However, a somewhat recent thread here mentioned the proper use of oplock'ing in the Samba configuration

How to constraint instructions reordering from patterns?
Here is a last example to illustrate my concern.
The problem is about the lowering of node t13.
Initial selection DAG: BB#0 '_start:entry'
SelectionDAG has 44 nodes:
t11: i16 = Constant<0>
t0: ch = EntryToken
t3: ch = llvm.clp.set.rspa t0, TargetConstant:i16<392>, Constant:i32<64>
t5: ch = llvm.clp.set.rspb t3,

oplocks, QuickBooks (Samba 3)
Hi there,
Can somebody please explain to me why Samba 3 requires 'oplocks = no' on
shares for programs like Quickbooks to operate properly with multiple
users, where Samba 2 didn't?
Without this option, Quickbooks will complain about file corruption when
a second user tries to open a file.
This option, however, makes the particular share that the option is
present in _very_ slow

Quickbooks Pro 2001
I moved a Quickbooks Pro file to our Samba server (v 2.0.7) during an effort
to centralize some stuff in our organization. Before moving the file to the
samba server it was shared from a users NT Workstation. I don't consider
this a viable long term solution. Anyway ... here it goes with my problem
report .... :-)
So I moved the Quickbooks file to the Samba server, setup an Accounting

Seeking help with Samba shares & OPLOCKS & Quickbooks databases
I thought I had things figured out, but guess not. I have multi-user
Quickbooks databases that functioned fine on a Novell server but are
behaving badly on a Samba share. I have created a separate share for the
Quickbook databases, users are running Win XP Pro, latest patches, and the
Quickbooks application installed on the desktop. It is a multiuser version.
Server is RedHat ES 3, Samba

How to constraint instructions reordering from patterns?
The DAG dumping will try to print some of the nodes "inline" (i.e. where
they are used) to make the output more readable, so the dump of the DAG
may not strictly reflect the node ordering.

How to constraint instructions reordering from patterns?
Krzysztof,
Thanks for your interest to my questions.
In order to clarify the context, here is the C source file of my test case.
The 3 builtins initialize some stack pointers. They have to be executed before any other instruction.
extern float fdivfaddfmul_a(float a, float b, float c, float d);
volatile static float x1,x2,x3,x4;
void _start(void)
{
float res;

Mapping virtual registers to physical registers
Hi Krzysztof, Thanks for your response.
I was trying to map function input parameters to machine specific registers.
My solution I found is based to the RegInfo.setSimpleHint() API.
Here is the body of the parameters loop of TargetLowering::LowerFormalArguments
VReg = RegInfo.createVirtualRegister(RC);
RegInfo.setSimpleHint(VReg,CLP::FA_ROFF1+i);

PSDRV_FindPrinterInfo Error, trying to use kprinter
I am running wine 20050725 under KDE/Debain/testing with binaries from
deb http://wine.sourceforge.net/apt/ binary/ on the client in question.
I am trying to print from QuickBooks 6 to a printer server (Brother HL1240)
running cups 1.1.18. The client is accessing the printer from kprinter and
printing from the native Linux applications with no problem.
When I try to print from QuickBooks I

Can't write QuickBooks file to Samba share
On a server that has been running smoothly since it was setup, and with no
changes to configurations or network or anything, users cannot save a shared
QuickBooks file. they have been regularly using, updating and saving to this
file for a few months. All users are able to create and update other files in
the same share. I have not confirmed if they are able to create and update new

Are there some strong naming conventions in TableGen?
Hi,
For the development of a new micro-controller backend, I try to lowering the following store SDNode: t5: ch = store<ST2[%ptr2](align=4)> t0, Constant:i16<3>, FrameIndex:i16<1>, undef:i16
I have defined the following instruction and associated DAG pattern.

Domain Users cannot use quickbooks
Hi all;
the other day we tried to get ambitious and get the office onto a
samba domain. Things were fine, but our quickbooks users could not
use quickbooks because they were domain restricted users and needed
to be domain standard users.
Anyone have any help on how to get the users in question to be power
users?

Quickbooks 8.1 lockup
Using Ubuntu 8.04, Wine 1.1.3
Application is Quickbooks 8.1. I have succesfully run this app in 7.04 with older wine version.
I'm finding that the menu's with arrow up & down seem to crash Quickbooks and wine. Not using the arrows but when you go all the way to the top or bottom. A restart is then needed to get Quickbooks to open up again.
Any ideas? As I say this worked great

I''ve been using xen for a number of years now without issues, but now
have a problem.
First, the problem:
I have a Windows Server 2008 Standard 64bit DomU, I''ve installed a
number of applications, and it works quite well and runs stable for
weeks at a time so far (ie, has never crashed yet).

Quickbooks revisited
I did testing on generating this report from a 130 MB Quickbooks file.
Locally, 15 seconds. Samba Server, 1:35. Shared off of my win98
Workstation, 2+ mins. I do not understand the reason it is SOO slow. I
know it is a fairly large file. The only explanation I can come up with is
the way QuickBooks is accessing the files. Maybe jumping all around the
file, requiring many operations on the
