Group Policies in Samba 3
Ok, I'm going kinda nuts... I have a samba 3 + openldap domain, which works great for authentication, etc. I am trying to use the NTConfig.POL to enforce policies on a mix of 98/win2k and XP boxes. This is a K12 environment, so I need very restrictive policies for students, less so for teachers and staff. What seems to be happening, at least with the XP clients is that it gets the

Using 3.0.14a-sernet on Suse 9.1 - ldapsam Specifically, a couple of things seem to be lacking: 1) Logon/Logoff times are not being recorded The last logon time recorded in my ldap entries are pre-nt4 migration. 2) Do the Audit Policy values in user manager have any effect? It now makes the sambaUnixIdPooldn object default to: cn=sambaDomainName=DOMAIN whereas the output of the configure.pl script given in Chapter 9 of the book is shown as: sambaDomainName=DOMAIN I now have the first version of the sambaUnixIdPooldn

Custom Hidden Files?
Hi. A question on a feature that interests me... Can I specify samba to handle the dot files in our linux samba server as hidden files in windows? IMC
Hi, I'm trying to setup IMC (idealx management console) to give our windows admins some nice toy to play with, but I have problem to make it work. I can log in after I authentificate as Administrator, but, I can't modify any LDAP entries, as that fails with unsufficient privileges due to the IMC trying to bind to LDAP as logged in user (Administrator), instead of something like
