Newbie samba3/smbldap-tools questions...
Hi all, I have set up a test configuration with Samba 3.0.2a and ldapsam/nss on FreeBSD 5.2.1, one PDC and two BDC's on different subnets. Most is now humming along quite well and I need to get a grip on the administrative side of it. - Is it possible to use the NT4 usrmgr.exe to administer accounts? Have people used to nothing but Windows who needs to add/delete users. I have tried but

Possible Latex problem in R-devel?
I'm getting this error when installing packages w/ a checkout of R from a a little bit ago (23-Aug-2004, approx 1pm eastern US time): ** help Bareword found where operator expected at /usr/home/jgentry/R/share/perl/R/Rdconv.pm line 2331, near "$latexout latex_link_trans0" (Missing operator before latex_link_trans0?) 4.8-RELEASE not identifying scsi drives
A problem with 4.8 reported by myself and Aaron D. Gifford. Anyone in -stable who knows more? ******** I'm assembling a Compaq 1850R with attached storage system. For the built in scsi controller (sym), there are three drives internally on channel 1 + 5 drives externally on channel 2. During boot, I can see all disks being identified first by the machine itself and then in the early part

[PATCH] paravirt: helper to disable all IO space
In a virtual environment, device drivers such as legacy IDE will waste quite a lot of time probing for their devices which will never appear. This helper function allows a paravirt implementation to lay claim to the whole iomem and ioport space, thereby disabling all device drivers trying to claim IO resources. I am new to Ruby on Rails. I have read a lot, and bought several books, and now I have started to implement a modified "shopping cart", following the AWDWR-book, with modifications to suit our application (subscriptions and memberships). Having done up to chapter 7 I have had no real problems, except one: Since our customers are Swedish I need the screen names, texts etc to be in

Ticket/Issue support system
Hi I am looking for a Open Source RoR-based system for handling support issues for our customers. I needs to be simple so that the end user easily can add support issues. We also need to administer the issues (assign to developer/support person), schedule, and list issues (tickets). I have found SimpleTickets, which seems to be a good alternative, but I would like to know if any one else out

Legacy database Oracle
I am new to RoR, but totally sold to the concepts, so I have decided to use RoR to develop a web client to our Oracle-based software that our customers today use with a Windows client. At first we will develope simple things like registering to receive email newsletters, and registering/updating your name, address and telephone etc. Eventually we hope to do a more full-bodied web-side client.

Interpretation of hypothesis tests for mixed models
My question concerns the logic behind hypothesis tests for fixed-effect terms in models fitted with lme. Suppose the levels of Subj indicate a grouping structure (k subjects) and Trt is a two-level factor (two treatments) for which there are several (n) responses y from each treatment and subject combination. If one suspects a subject by treatment interaction, either of the following models seem

SMBMount and backup application
I would like some advice. I am considering the best way to restructure my backup scheme on my NT network. I would like to see if it would be possible/feasible to use cron, smbmount, some SCSI tape drives, and some type of archive tool to backup my NT shares to a RedHat box using Samba. What do all of you do out there? I would envision a situation where each night a script is run by cron that

[PATCH 0/15] adjust pvops to accomodate its x86_64 variant
Hi folks, With this series, the bulk of the work of pvops64 is done. Here, I integrate most of the paravirt.c and paravirt.h files, making them applicable to both architectures. CONFIG_PARAVIRT is _not_ present yet. Basically, this code is missing page table integration (patches currently being worked on by Jeremy). Enjoy
