Profile creation
SAMBA VERSION: 2.2.4 ERROR(S): Profile Creation I have recently been assigned to create a Samba PDC. Earlier in the week, I thought I was successful. I was able to log in, load (or create) the test user's .ntprofile, etc. Went home that night, happy as could be. Came back the next day - and nothing was working correctly. The systems could not find the domain. The domain was not

Terminal server login problem
Hi all, I have a strange problem with the combination of Win2k3 and Samba. The samba server is configured as a PDC, the terminal server as a member of the domain. Logging in from the terminal server console with a domain userid works; logging in from a terminal server session from the same machine fails with the message: "The system can not log you on due to the following error: The

Samba as PDC - No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
Hello everyone, I?m trying to set Samba as a primary NT domain controller in my small home network. I?ve been going step by step trough the HOW TO on Samba PDC. When I got to the part where I should log a client (a windows 2000 workstation, no SPs installed) into the domain (called HOME) I keep getting ?No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.?. I guess I forgot to do something

SetPrinter call failed
I am having trouble getting the cupsaddsmb script to work to add the drivers. Everything seems to work (it copies the drivers to the correct directories), but I keep getting the result NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL error message on the rpcclient setdriver command. When trying to connect to the printer from a 2K client, I see a client-error-not-found error in the log. I can't seem to find

Guest Printing Broke after upgrade from 2.28 to 3.010
I'm running a CUPS print server with SuSe 9.0 Pro with printers shared through Samba. I've recently upgraded from 2.28 to 3.010. My server is a member of an NT 4 domain. I run winbind to authenticate users to the domain; however, I also allow guest printing because many laptop users' machines are not domain members. There has been a change in guest printing behavior after the

Help!!! Windows XP Joining Samba 2.2.2 Domain
Okay, I'm at the end of my amazing internet research skills, and now I'm having to offer this problem up to the mailing lists. In a fit of stupidity I've just upgraded my machine from 98 to XP (purely for research ;), and now I need to add it to the domain. My root user on the Linux box running samba is called guB~b1n5 and the Linux box is configured to use PAM and SSL, I've

usrmgr not functioning
I'd really appreciate any ideas on this problem that I've been working on for a few days now. Any hints on how I can diagnose or resolve the problem please. Whenever I try to run the User Manager (usrmgr.exe) on a Windows machine (usually as root) it brings up the domain users, but selecting any name I get the error: "The device attached to the system is not functioning" My

Here's a working samba.conf
Since everyone seems to only post problems to this list, I thought that I would try and post a number of solutions at once. This is my working samba configuration file (minus key indentyfying information). It may not be perfect, but it is as close as I have been able to get it to perfect, and that is after working with samba for a few years. This configuration has my server setup as a PDC (with
