Sorry, I originally send this message to H. Peter only... -----Original Message----- Hi! Strangely enough, I have again the same Fujitsu-Siemens machine which (still) has the same darn PXE bug. This time I have tested it with Pxelinux 2.02 . Just to suite it to my specific needs, I have recompiled it, changed only this line: (2036) ;cfgprefix db 'pxelinux.cfg/' ; No final null!

FW: LDAP getent issues
Hi Rowland, If we need to shut the NT4 PDC down after the migration it makes a lot of sense to separate the roles of the existing NT4 PDC. Hence why we are adding a new Samba box with a view that it becomes the PDC and the existing PDC become a member server. The main reasons is that it has a lot of files which cannot be moved easily. So the question is with the new PDC we stick with TDB?

Fw: [Fedora-directory-announce] Fedora Directory Server news!

To me, this is probably the most exciting

Fw: Samba as a NT PDC
Ok. To let you know, my source was Samba Unleashed (copyright 2000). Page 343 and 344 is what told me that I needed to add itself to the entries and to its own domain it is running. I'll remove the entries and see how things work. Thanks for the help. Apparently it is because the book I am using is wrong. Adam Lang Systems Engineer Rutgers Casualty Insurance Company

Hi Rowland, I have gone through that link a few times and have done both the TDB to AD and also LDAP to AD migration a few times. The AD migration is the second stage. Let me explain the situation. The Production server is a Samba 3 box which acts as the DC (TDB) and file share. We decided to to add a Samba 4 box to that classic domain and make it a PDC. Having gone through various documents

In addition to the instructions below, you must have complied the NSS_LDAP from www.padl.com on your SAMBA PDC. I have written a how-to with instructions to compile NSS_LDAP and an example smb.conf attached to this email. I got the detailed directions from the "SAMBA 3 by example" at http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/ Good luck, Pat -----Original Message----- From:
