WinXP SP2 machines disappear from the workgroup controlled by Samba
Hi,
I have a problem which I couldn't solve myself thus decided to ask here. My
setup is rather basic. There are over 20 PCs in the network, most of them
running WinXP Home SP2 and WinXP Pro SP2, a few Windows 98 SE and the Linux
(Debian) server running samba 3.0.7(-1). They all are in the same subnet.
Windows clients and samba are configured to participate in the same
workgroup. WINS is

GlusterFS, Pacemaker, OCF resource agents on CentOS 7
Hi guys
I'm wondering if anyone here is using the GlusterFS OCF
resource agents with Pacemaker on CentOS 7?
yum install centos-release-gluster
yum install glusterfs-server glusterfs-resource-agents
The reason I ask is that there seem to be a few problems
with them on 3.10, but these problems are so severe that I'm
struggling to believe I'm not just doing something wrong.

Win 95 client - no permission to access resource
Hello,
I have a Red Hat 6.0 Linux server running Samba 2.0 (that came with the
Red Hat distribution) and I am having problems connecting to this server
from Windows 95 PCs.
When I try to connect to the server through 'Network Neighbourhood',
after I have entered my password at the $IPC prompt I see the following
error message:

Windows clients losing connection to Samba 3.0.27 PDC on FC7 i386
Hello all...
I have a site of about 50 pcs connected to a Samba domain controller.
The domain has been running flawlessly for several years through several
upgrades, and the last one (From Fedora Core 4/ Samba 3.0.23a to FC7/
Samba 3.0.27) seems to have caused something to come unglued.
The Workstations are periodically booting up in the morning and being
unable to contact the domain controller.

Samba 3 in MIT Kerberos Realm
Hi,
I have been reading through the docs for Samba 3, and there is a lot
of talk about how samba 3 can function in an AD domain as a member
server and accept kerberos service tickets issued by an MS KDC. (net
ads join, etc...)
I have a slightly different twist on a similar situation. I have an
MIT kerberos realm set up and my Windows2000 PCs get tickets from this
realm on login just

server change
Hi,
Recently we changed our samba server to a bigger and more powerful system ( centos 5.2 )
The config file and smbpasswd and other passwd and group files were copied to the new server and it then assumed the same identity as the old one in the dns and ip address.
It seems to have gone very well except we now seem to have a problem.
There are windows XP workstations that were domain joined to the

I can't get the linux machine to resolve the NETBios names of the windows
machines.

Debugging Samba is a total PITA and this needs to improve
Hai Sven,
And still i see/think you should change some things to get a better base setup.
And no its not bike shedding.... It is making a standard setup, work from there.
