Simultaneous Share Access via NFS/SMB
I have a share that has been exported via NFS as well as shared using Samba 3.0. On the Windows side, all authentication is currently done using Winbind and Active Directory. On the standalone Samba server (also authenticated using Windbind) where the exported NFS resides, I have the same local Unix user (identified by the same name and UID/GID) that I have on each Unix (Mac/Linux) host that

little help with my config please (repost with smb.conf)
Hola: This is a repost with the smb.conf inline. Hola: I have configured samba-3.0.14a-2 on FC4 as a member of a Windows SBS2003 network. I used windbind to get the users from the SBS server. Users can login into the samba machine and use home directories I created for them in the samba machine (I cannot get to use/mount the user's home directories from the SBS machine into the

applying policies to the Group Policy Creator Owner
Hi: When I add a user xUser to the Group Policy Creator Owner, xUser should be able to create a new GPO , right? However when I run: samba-tool gpo create new_gpo -U xUser , it throw an exception about insufficient ldap permissions. Then when I access via smb to the folder: domain/sysvol/Policies and the user xUser has permissions for creating folders, I mean, it has no ldap permissions. Any

Repost: Can't connect to my smb share from Win machine
Hello list, could somebody please point me to the information (tutorial) how to configure this properly, or where is the problem? I need to access the share without authentication (it's an isolated home network)... It used to work on FC3 but I can't figure it out on FC6 :-( By the way, there's a typo in the original post: the windows machine is W98 not 95. thanks Marek --- Marc

[PATCH repost] virtio-net: remove useless disable on freeze
disable_cb is just an optimization: it can not guarantee that there are no callbacks. In particular it doesn't have any effect when event index is on. Instead, detach, napi disable and reset on freeze ensure we don't run concurrently with a callback. Remove the useless calls so we get same behaviour with and without event index. [LLVMdev] Repost: question about tail call elimination pass
NOTE: My original post was MIME mangled. So I'm reposting it. Sorry for that. Hi, createTailCallEliminationPass() is able to turn recursive functions into loops when the functions are written in tail recursive form. However, I'm unable to get it to convert mutually recursive functions to run without a growing stack. For example (in pseudo code)- define fact(n,result) if n < 2

repost - Can one edit the file that generates the scaffolding.css?
I am reposting this because not only am I VERY interested in the answer but because I think it would also be useful to many, many people. We kind of have a house-style here, so it would be nice if the generated scaffold.css would accommodate that. My questions are? Is it possible? Is it safe? How? bruce

repost: permission mix-up happening
Reposting -- didn't notice my post appear. Hi, Presently I am facing a problem configuring our new SAMBA based file-server. Previously we used my workstation as a fileserver for our team (of about 12 users). Recently I moved all that stuff to a machine running Mandrak 10.1 Official (IA32). The way I configured samba is as follows (from smb.conf): [global] workgroup = ASIAPACIFIC netbios

BugTracker Information - REPOST
All, As a bug marshal, I have noticed quite a few bugs that seem to get overlooked/ignored due to the fact that they do not have the appropriate information in the bug information fields, or bugnotes. I am, therefore, Reposting an old post from July 26th, 2003, to help clarify the use of the Bugtracker. Sorry if you have read it before; this is just an attempt to re-familiarize
