43Things.com on the Today show?
They weren''t as far as I know. But maybe they should be soon.
It looks like the Today Show (a morning show on NBC in the US) is doing a "Live for Today" segment, basically the same thing that 43
Things is doing. Maybe someone from Robot Coop should let them know about 43 Things.

Device problems in a loop.
I have tried the following code to plot and save many box plots in files. The code works by itself, but does not run in a loop. The error indicates that there is no device. The error is printed below the code.
Code:
for(i in 1:len)
{
A = as.numeric(delta[Delta[i,1]])
B = as.numeric(delta[Delta[i,2]])
C = as.numeric(delta[Delta[i,3]])
D = as.numeric(delta[Delta[i,4]])

Samba without netbios/WINS
I am running samba (2.2.7a) on a solaris box on a network seperate from
our windows clients. (different subnet) We have a mix of Win2k and
winXP clients that are connecting to it.
I recently upgraded from NT 4.0 domains to active directory on Win2K
servers, and I would like to completely do away with netbios and WINS.
The problem is getting clients to connect to the samba server. I have

If you are going to add them, I would only do it when everyone is off
the network, you will need to restart Samba and

Does Samba 3 work in a Windows 2008 R2 with NO WINS and NO NETBIOS
Hopefully a quick question.
My Windows AD administrator is moving to Windows 2008R and is about to
switch off the last Windows 2003 domain controller.
He also wants to switch off the compatible WINS and NETBIOS off as well.
Does samba 3 work in this environment or do I need to tell him to keep
then working?
Cheers,
Andrew

Netbios node type value WITHOUT wins server only WITH DNS server
Hi,
I've a Samba 4 AD and network configuration is given by a dhcp server.
I have several questions :
1) Can I remove "netbios-name-server" or must I set this parameter to
the IP of my Samba 4 ?
2) What is the good value for "netbios-node-type" to work only with dns
server ?
3) Are there other parameters to set to well work with samba 4 ?
I've found documentation

apache server-status permission denied
Hey all,
I'm having a slightly weird issue with apache server-status on just one of
my nodes.
In my httpd.conf I have the following:
<Location /server-status>
SetHandler server-status
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
Allow from 127.0.0.1 10.10.160
</Location>
If I do a ps grep I know that I'm using the right config:

problem with cached netbios name of wins server
fc2, samba 3.0.9
The samba server is PDC.
Temporarily, the server was dhcp, which gave it the IP
192.168.1.64
we then set it to static 192.168.1.150, which is what
we want.
however, the different windows clients, on and off, on
ping and such, resolve INTRANET, the netbios name of
the pdc, to 192.168.1.64 still, despite me removing
wins.dat.
I even tried the following suggestion, to no avail

I added the address of the samba server into the wins configuration tab

Getting rid of netbios does not mean you should not configure it.
You "should" configure it.
And even if you disable WINS, LLMNR is still running, so you gained.. .. Nothing with disabling WINS.
Just in this case make sure your NETBIOS names obey the DNS rules and

Openssh
I installed openssh on my sun blade, however, prngd, I cannot get seeded. I
downloaded the latest version from sunfreeware.com dated NOV 21-02, hoping
that this installation of openssh works, is there any trick to deinstalling
the previous version prior to loading the new? Also, do you have a cheat
sheets or personal notes you would be willing to share?
Thanks
