Network printing HP 843C over Samba
Hay all. I've been setting up a linux gateway with an ADSL connection and three windows boxes in a home network. Everything has gone smoothly with Red Hat 9 and data transfer rates have risen due to having a linux gateway instead of an Windows XP gateway. However, I've had horrible problems setting up network printing. I've got Samba set up and that is working fine with various

There are also packages like highcharter, which package proprietary software without a license, but it is incumbent on the user to respect the license of the underlying library. -----Original Message----- From: R-devel [mailto:r-devel-bounces at r-project.org] On Behalf Of Joris Meys Sent: Friday, March 24, 2017 8:14 AM To: Marc Schwartz Cc: R-Devel Subject: Re: [Rd] non-infectious license for R

Please check the Speex email server for W32.Netsky
The only way you can track these things is by IP address, looking through the message headers. Don't try to draw any conclusions from email addresses used in the message, be they From, To, or in the body, as these are always forged and are harvested in many ways. Tom tony t. The key difference being that while not under the GPL, highcharter is still open source. There isn't a single compiled library in the entire package. WinBUGS otoh is closed source (although there is an open source version of it, OpenBUGS). As far as I understood, CRAN doesn't accept packages containing any binary executable code without the proper source files attached. So including the

Timeout question
Hi. I've got 2 Fedora Linux (a Master and a Slave) with RSYNC-2.5.7. I need to keep Master synchronized every 5 minutes (mounting a remote directory with NFS on Slave). It runs correctly. To simulate a problem, I try to disconnect the lan cable. From the shell of Slave: rsync -a -v --timeout=10 --delete /mnt/master/ /local/slave I expect that the process will end after 10 seconds, but

non-infectious license for R package?
Dear All, thanks a lot for all the quick and helpful responses! I'm currently interested in the "stance" of this community towards closed source contributions. The way I understand it, currently my options are quite limited: I would most likely need to use a remote procedure call API, and build one side of the API as GPL. But this would make the coupling much slower and more

computing differences between consecutive vector elements
Dear R-users, I am a newbie to R so please excuse this naive question for which I couldn't seem to find online answers. I have this data frame containing a series of locations through time (x,y,z,t). I would like to compute the difference in x, y and z between t-1 and t. Sounds easy enough, but how on earth does one loop through vector elements and compute this difference? Thanks Thomas

non-infectious license for R package?
My humble 2 nonlegal cents: There are multiple packages that make the link between R and proprietary software. One example is R2WinBUGS which connects to WinBUGS, but there are a lot more of these. All of these use essentially the same idea: - create the package under a standard GPL license - use the (command line) interface provided by the proprietary software to connect with it, eg by calls to
