-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi @ll,
just a version Question to the gurus,
i found SMBLDAP-TOOLS version 0.7 in the Samba sources
but today there was an upgrade to
smbldap-tools 0.8.7 by IDEALX
will the samba team upgrade SMBLDAP-TOOLS
in the samba sources too?
If not what are the reasons not to do so?

ntlm_auth from pppd help
Hello all,
I am working on a VPN solution using FC3-2.6.12-1.1381 - openswan
2.4.4-1 - l2tpd 0.69-13 - pppd 2.4.3-5 - samba 3.0.10-1.
When attempting a connection from an XP-SP2 box pppd dies without
authenticating the user (see below).
I have run ntlm_auth from the command line with success.
What tools can I use to identify the failure?
Is there an obvious error in the ppp options file?

Asterisk Dialplan command "PPPD" released
Hello all!
Sirrix AG, Saarbr?cken (manufacturer of the Sirrix.PCI4S0 4-port ISDN
card for Asterisk) has released the new Asterisk dialplan command PPPD
(app_pppd). It allows to connect a Linux PPP daemon to an arbitrary
digital (ISDN) Asterisk channel to provide RAS dialin and dialout.
The PPPD command has successfully been tested with Sirrix.PCI4S0 cards
and a standard ISDN4Linux ipppd "on

pppd/smbclient question
I have been trying to edit ip-up and ip-down so that when the link goes
up or down it sends a message to my windows machine for winpopup. I
edited the last line of ip-down to look like this:
echo "The link is down" | smbclient -M mymachine
when I invoke ip-down by hand, it works fine.
when I kill the power to the modem, I get no message. I logged the
output of the command, and it

pppd and radius
I've been googling, but after getting nowhere for a while I thought I'd
ask for a direction to head in. I am replacing a RH7.1 box that was
performing dial-in service using a pppd patched for radius support. I'd
prefer not to do things this way and would like to use a more easily
updated configuration.
What I need it to do is do auth against a radius server and support
windows

PPPD problem please help
After a big help from Peter Svensson, I got ISDN Data-calls up and
running.
But now when everything seems connected, pppd has been authorized by
other peer and even got an IP address, the whole connection seems to
stop working.
Very unregulary, the PPPD's EchoReq's stop being answered, and of course
all TCP/IP-traffic as well.
It takes between 0-2 minutes till the connection breaks.

How to disable selinux protection interfering with pppd? I tried audit2allow, but policy does not load. Is there an seboolean?
CentOS release 5.4 (Final)
I run pppd on this system, it accepts dial-in connections, logs people
in over ssh/sftp.
I had selinux disabled on this system originally, but I recently
enabled it, and selinux
is blocking this pppd service.
"audit2allow -M" has generated the following policy based on AVC
denial messages:
module fixdialinserver 1.0;
require {
type pppd_t;

pppd + rp-pppoe: /sbin/ifup-local when ADSL re-up?
Hi all,
I set up an ADSL connection using rp-pppoe/pppoe-setup.
The setting is to persist the connection, so that when the link goes
down, it's re-up'd by pppd.
The interface is "ppp0" and it appears "/sbin/ifup-local" is not called
when re-uppping the ADSL link.
It is a problem for me, as I have some routing tables which get cleared
from the routes "via

PPPD & Winbind authentication
Hi All,
I've got Andrew's winbind auth patch working in pppd on our pptp server,
which at means no-more perl scripts to syncronise LM/NT hashes from
openldap to the pptp server :-)
I am however finding that usernames 4 characers long are having their
username truncated to 3, when passed to winbind, and are subsequently
failing.
Has anyone else noticed this yet, or is it just me? :-)

pppd dial-in over asterisk
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I'm sure most people are aware of the ability of pppd to answer calls
coming in from a standard serial modem (or at least that is the way
I
understand it to work), authenticate the user and issue it an IP
address. With the proper ip forwarding/masquerading techniques, this
can serve as a fully functional ISP of sorts. It also offers a nice

Asterisk PPPD with analog lines
Hi All,
Is it possible to use asterisk as a internet link backup callback solution? I
mean when my main DSL link is down at my server room I would like to dial to
asterisk , then it will call back me and provide a connection to a LAN
network.

Palm Pilot, USB, pppd and udev
I've a line like this that creates /dev/pilot link in my local udev rules:

SYMLINK="pilot"
And it seems to work fine for doing normal sync operation to Gnome Palm applet

exactly the same, no other way to

Premature end of script headers; dispatch.cgi - ok
Hi,
I''m getting the dreaded "Premature end of script headers:

things that I tried, let me mention that I already have a Rails app
working on this server (installed by somebody else).
First app is accessible at: http://mydomain.com/cwps and it all works.
Second app is accessible at: http://mydomain.com/robo

a solution to pppd random interface name ?
Hi,
I have multiple ppp interfaces that does not correspond to the same
network usage. Do you know anything about trying to set definitively the
ppp+ name ? or anything to adapt automagically iptables to the real
network which is behind each ppp+ interface ?
I''ve tooken a look into the IFNAME env var... but it doesn''t seems to
work :c/
