help with 3.0.20 admin users=
Hey all,
Can anyone help with a problem since upgrading from samba 3.0.14 to 3.0.20
I have a problem from a share. If the admin users = is added it seems to be
ignored.
Before with 3.0.14 the share was defined like this
[cai_hw1]
comment = Dr. Cai, Graphics
path = /home/meugrads/cai_hw
valid users= @cai_hw1
admin users = fau\caig

MSWORD problem after upgrade to samba 3.0.14a
Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem with Samba
3.0.14a.
The problems is after the users connects to a samba share and opens msword,
creates a document then does "file|save"
Then opens the file and makes changes then does "file|save" again, it comes
up and says that the backup copy of the file could not be created and never
actually saves

Small bug with Samba 3.0.7's smbd process (or just a bad compilation)???
Hi,
I have compiled and installed Samba 3.0.7 with MIT Kerberos 1.3.5 and
OpenLDAP 2.2.17. The reason for it is that I need to authenticate Windows'
user accesses to a Samba share via the Samba's ADS security mode.
I found out one potential problem with Samba 3.0.7 and I have one general
question:

Dealing with multiple gid changes
So I discovered yesterday that if puppet changes the gid of a group it
doesn''t go through the file system and update them with the new correct gid
(at least this was the case on RHEL5 and client puppet v2.6.16 and
puppetmaster 2.7.12). Now I thought that it might be possible to have
puppet execute something like find /home/ -group <old_gid> | xargs chgrp
groupname. However

Fabian,
Fast explains.
On the NT server work BrightStore with version r9, more highly does not go
because of NT.
On the REHL4 side works (worked) BrightStore Linux Client r11.5. Smaller
version does not work goes because of RHEL4.
BrightStore servers r9 and Linux Client r11.5 are not compatible
unfortunately.
I must now decide everything with the version Share to work to get.

force group does not work
Hi
I set up a samba 4.1.4 server on the latest FreeBSD RELEASE 10.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to consider the option force group. After
hours ofresearch I couldn't figure out what I'm still missing. unix
extensions is set to no. Setting the debug level up to 10 also didn't
help ;(
Is this a bug or is there simply a mistake in my setup?

winbind and w2k groups
Hello,
I'm using samba 2.2.7a w/ redhat 8.0, and a w2k server as a DC (french language version). I've configured samba to be a member of the mixed-mode w2k domain, and I authenticate my users from the w2k DC with winbind/pam. I can wbinfo -u/-g/-t/-p without any problems and getent passwd/group give me the correct output.
This setup is almost working as i expect it to.
But...

explorer.exe crashes on security tab access
This is a long-standing issue going back at least a year from what I can see in mailing list archives.
Still not working as of Samba 4.8.3. I think MS broke something with one of the Windows 10 updates.
In my situation, this is a brand-new 4.8.3 install. For me the crashes happen when I try to edit the share folder permissions right out of the box from whatever Samba set in there by default.
