still ACL bug in 3.0.14a
Sparc Solaris / UFS file system. I have some ACL's set up for a handful
of users and its all worked flawlessly with every incarnation of Samba
I've used over the past couple years, which would be most.
Last Friday evening I upgraded from 3.0.11 to 3.0.13 and some of the users

Stubbing ActiveRecord Models gets very difficult with instance methods
I have seen some basic examples of using Mocha and Stubba with ActiveRecord Models; However, the ones I read were somewhat simplistic. That is they stubbed the find class method of the model, or the execute method of the connection object. While stubbing the find method had the desired effect for the author it did not help with a situation I was hacking away on. Which was writing a test case

3.0.20 -> 3.0.23 SID/group error?? Won't connect.
Gerry, all:
HELP! On mandriva, I compiled samba from source and got it running, but
I cannot connect from windows. (see my post from earlier "[Samba] Compiling
and Configuring Samba for Mandrival")
I think this relates to the group/SID changes discussed in the release
notes. However, I'm not smart enough to figure it out. The tarball compiled
and installed fine. It

Upgrade 3.0.11 to 3.0.12 serious issues
Linux Samba 3.0.12 + acl (ext3)
===============================
When upgrading from 3.0.11 to 3.0.12 ACL's do not seem get used anymore.
We are using the inherit acls options for both maps and files. After the
upgrade users are unable to create new files in directories where they
used to have privileges for. The error returned is: "The file already

--with-acl-support
Dear Andrew Tridgell,
i cant compile the 2.2.1-9 package
--with-acl-support, beacuse
HAVE_SYS_ACL_H has wrong settings somewhere.
i cant fix the bug,
i just comment out the #ifdef HAVE_SYS_ACL_H line
in the source/include/includes.h
for a (i hope) good compilation.
i use acl 1.1.2 from sgi,
and the latest debian woody packages.
Regards.

[PATCH 00/10] s390: virtio: support protected virtualization
Enhanced virtualization protection technology may require the use of
bounce buffers for I/O. While support for this was built into the virtio
core, virtio-ccw wasn't changed accordingly.
Some background on technology (not part of this series) and the
terminology used.

Select rows based on matching conditions and logical operators
Hi,
I have a dataset in which I would like to select rows based on matching
conditions and return the maximum value of a variable else return one row if
duplicate counts exist. My dataset looks like this:

[PATCH 0 of 2] Add configuration options to selectively disable S3 and S4 (V3)
This patch series adds the ability to selectively disable the S3 and S4 ACPI
power states for HVM guests.
Since there is a general move towards retiring the hvm_info_table structure,
the first patch moves the acpi_enabled flag out of the hvm_info_table and into
a xenstore key (platform/acpi).
The second patch then introduces the acpi_s3 and acpi_s4 configuration
parameters to the xl config file

primary GID based access for user in 16 supplementary groups
We observe a difference between a Windows 7 client and Windows 2003/XP client when accessing directories that should be accessible via the UNIX accounts primary group GID. Windows client refuses access.
Ignoring for now why the two different client behaviours (either some subtle difference in the requests or the way the Samba reply is dealt with) the question is what should be the correct

ACLs under Samba 3.3.0
Is behavior of ACLs under Samba 3.3.0 (Sernet) completely different from
that under version 3.2.7? The release notes only talks about some "fixes".
I installed version 3.3.0 and got completely different result with the
same filesystem and the exact same samba configuration. The ACLs behaved
strangely and appeared very different under Windows ACL editor. Users
were now unable to
