I call it barebone.R, which has one line: cat ('Hello World!\n') I execute this file as: R --no-save < barebone.R And it does what I expect. What I get is 20+/- lines of text, one of which is 'Hello World!'. How would I go about getting rid of all but the line I am after, 'Hello World!'?
