***SPAM*** Re: Configure Samba with non-standard OpenLDAP location
I'm having a similar problem where the configure just doesn't find the
ldap libraries even though I've got the ldap-devel rpm installed and the
libraries are in their normal location in /usr/lib.

ADS Issues and possible bug in 3.0.20
Before I lay out the problems I am currently suffering from let me
describe my environment:
Dell OptiPlex GX270 2.6Ghz 512MB Ram RedHat Linux Fedora Core 3 with all
current updates. Samba compile is version 3.0.20 stable.

Everything was running fine until my last YUM update.

net ads join error
Compiling version 3.0.20 from source on RedHat Fedora Core 4 everything
seems to go smoothly. However upon trying to join a 2000 domain with
the following command "net ads join -U Administrator%Password 'OU'" I
get the following error:

FW: Samba 3.0.11 on AIX 4.3
Eh ... will someone kindly take a look at this? I have "reduced"
the mail since it wasn't answered at all since I sent it in a
couple of days ago. Thanks.
Hi All,
Pls has anyone successfully installed Samba 3 on an AIX 4.3 (RS6000)
system?
The only precompiled binary I was able to find - v 3.0.4 from
bullfreeware.com
did not work after installation. I haven't been

idmap LDAP backend
I'm trying to use the LDAP backend for the idmap database but I just
can't seem to get it to work. There really is rather pathetic
documentation out there on how to implement this. I've basically got my
ldap server setup with an OU called smb and another OU under it called
idmap. Here is my smb.conf file:

workgroup = HQ
server string = Theo's Samba Server

Trying to get ADS authentication working.
I have been trying in vain to get ADS domain authentication working. I
can't figure out what is wrong and have read the docs and looked through
the mailing lists. I'm not sure why better documentation hasn't been
written on the web site for the ADS feature since it's pretty
spectacular to be able join a Samba server natively to an AD domain.
I have successfully joined the samba

[PATCH v7 0/9] drm: cec: convert DRM drivers to the new notifier API
Hi all,
The patches in this series can be applied independently from each other.
If you maintain one of these drivers and you want to merge it for v5.4
yourself, then please do so and let me know. If you prefer I commit it
to drm-misc, then please review and (hopefully) Ack the patch.
I would really like to get this in for v5.4 so I can get the userspace
bits in for v5.4 as well through the

Problems with XP
Hi all,
I've got a problem with WindowsXP i samba 2.2.3a-6.
When I want to work with samba with any other Windows everything is OK
but when I try to get something by samba from WindowsXP first of all I
have to wait by 3-5 minutes and after that time transfers are all right.
It seen to be something with login to domain, maybe XP is waiting for
some kind of signal from samba and after that

samba server shows up as Domain Controller
Hi All,
I finally compiled Samba 3.0.12pre1 (and 3.0.11) successfully on AIX

The steps I took will be placed at

Issues:
I have joined an AD domain with the following commands. When I check on
AD,
I find that the computer is listed as a "DOMAIN CONTROLLER"?
net ads join
net join -U Administrator%password
Is this OK? My intention is

IIUC, this is no longer needed with systemd 209 and above. I just did a
quick test[1] with

Bug#759384: xen: Lack of copyright entry for Vinay Sajip
Source: xen
Version: Lack of copyright entry for VInay Sajip
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I noticed that d/copyright lacks information for Vinay Sajip and his permissive
license.
You can see for which files it should be included:

e.g. tools/python/logging/logging-0.4.9.2/* and
