Problem when i join Win XP-SP2 client to samba
Hi, i have a lot of win XP clients with SP2 preinstalled and when i try to join to samba PDC i get an error: [...] user unknown or incorrect password. [...] The other clients (win 2000-SP4, NT-SP6, XP-SP1) work correctly, the problem is with XP-SP2. My version of samba is samba-2.2.8a. Exists any solution without having to update to last samba? thanks Joan Ramos Ramos

Samba 2.2.8 PDC to samba 3.0.11. Consecuences ?

ldapsam_compat & machine accounts
Hello everybody, I'm asking myself a rather simple issue (i hope it hasn't already be explained somewhere). I'm using ldapsam_compat on 3.0.1pre3(+Debian patches & smbldap-tools 0.8.1) to store both user accounts and machine accounts. It works just fine, but there still is something that i find quite odd. My smb.conf contains: add machine script =

ldapsam_compat backend hosed in v3.0.2
Hi all, In an attempt to get the old v2.2 Samba behaviour to work, I tried to enable the ldapsam_compat mode in passwd backend. Win2k cannot connect, username and password not accepted. The LDAP logs reveal that Samba is trying to make the following search: (&(&(uid=minfrin)(objectClass=sambaSamAccount))(objectClass=sambaAccount)) This search returns users who have both the old v2.2

ldapsam_compat - join workstation to domain problem
Hi there I am using Samba 3.0 release with the ldapsam_compat backend until we are ready to migrate to the new LDAP samba schema. Using the same "root" LDAP user (and smbldap-tools) that Samba 2.28 allowed me to add workstations to the domain successfully, I receive a new error - "No mapping between account names and security IDs was done". When I switch to the domain

Trusted domains with ldapsam_compat in samba 3
Hi all :-) We are currently hosting a SAMBA domain that provides login & file serving for public clusters around the university campus. We are using Samba 3.0.10, with an LDAP server that uses a samba 2.x schema. A department would now like to trust our domain for authentication, and use their own domain to administer their windows boxes. Will we be able to create a domain trust account

Issues after Samba updating a Samba PDC to 3.0.23c
Hi, last Saturday we reinstalled our fileserver to setup redundancy using DRBD and Heartbeat. We also upgraded Samba to 3.0.23c, which is acting as a PDC. We are using OpenLDAP to store accounts. I populated the OpenLDAP database using a LDIF file that I created on the old server before shutting it down. I also transfered all Samba tdb files to the new server. Everything went pretty

samba bad password count reset between logins (not loaded from login_cache.tdb)
I found out the answer to why the bad password count was failing by following the stack trace If anyone has the same problem, this was caused by my access rights being too restrictive. source/passdb/Init_sam_from_ldap.c:1064 => There is a "goto fn_exit;" in case ldapsam_get_entry_timestamp() fails before the cache is read via login_cache_read. This function will fail if it cannot

samba bad password count reset between logins (not loaded from login_cache.tdb)
Hi Denis, Thanks for your suggestion When I looked into Samba4 AD, I figured it would take too much effort to port our infrastructure to it, seemingly without benefits We already have a quite extensive network architecture with OpenLDAP acting as a LDAP server. Samba4 AD seems to require its own LDAP implementation (and some more quirks IIRC). There's also the additional DNS configuration

samba bad password count reset between logins (not loaded from login_cache.tdb)
Hi Daryl, > I recently migrated our samba PDC to an LDAP backend on a test machine. > Testing my account policies, I found out that the password lockout did not > work. bad password lockout works fine in Samba AD mode. Is there a technical reason for you to keep on using PDC NT4 mode? In AD mode, you'll also get a LDAP, and it will be much easier to setup and manage! By the way,

[LLVMdev] Public SmallVectorImpl constructor?
I've had the same thought but never got around to trying to implement it. Does everything compile for you if it's protected?
