Breaking Windows XP user password?
Granted this is not a UNIX system, but in case there is a UNIX tool to accomplish the goal... I am looking for a bootable CD/DVD (or application to be placed on a CD/DVD to be made bootable) that can let me mount a Windows XP drive/partition (SP1 or SP2), and force-crack the admin password (even if admin account name has been changed, but I know what it has been changed to). The application

Using SeMachineAccountPrivilege returns NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_PRIVILEGE
I am logged into a new test Linux server with my personal admin account. It is a member of a Linux group which has been mapped to Domain Admins. When I issue 'net rpc rights grant auserid SeMachineAccountPrivilege' and enter the password for my personal admin account, I am returned that it failed with NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_PRIVILEGE. 'auserid' is both a Linux account and has been

The error I am getting is Failed to grant privileges for longhill\Domain Admins (NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_PRIVILEGE) I have tried all 5 privileges and I get the same error. I suspect it has something to do with

classicupgrade, net rpc rights grant NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT and NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR
Dear all, we are transitioning from an openldap / MIT KDC setup to a samba4 AD. I am doing this by setting up a samba NT4 domain, populating it from LDAP and sticking in the password hashes which I automatically extract from the MIT KDC arc4-hmac keys. Then I run the classicupgrade. I do this whole thing from cron in a script once a day to be able to slowly migrate services. The MIT / openldap

RHEL 7.1 and Samba 4.1.12 partial success
I'm having issues with a couple of areas of Samba Setup. I can see (from my Win 8.1 workstation) the shares for the server for my test share \\p30\download<file:///\\p30\download> and \\p30\bietz<file:///\\p30\bietz> my home folder. I don't have permissions to access the folders and/or can't create or delete files. I had an upgraded Active Directory domain from Windows

However, I've been trying to get this to work under linux with no real sucsess, I'm using Codeweavers wine PR 4, (I've just started using this instead of the wine.tar.gz cos is seems easier to remove from a linux distro than the tar.gz version, but I suppose that's what

OT: BIOS upgrades and booting without a floppy drive
I've got a machine running CentOS 3.5 with an Intel D865GBF motherboard and I've been having an occasional "event" where disk-intensive activity (such as running "yum check-update" or starting up OpenOffice) causes the load average to spike and X11 to become unresponsive (as in, the pointer won't even track the mouse) for a few seconds. The machine always recovers

Hi, At our campus we have ~40 machines. If a new program is needed we install it on a single machine and replicate this one to the others. The whole process is automated: (Wake-On-LAN) (with pxe) booting a kernel via grub. booting a minimal ram based linux and doing: netcat server port > /dev/hda If we send a WOL packet the restore process starts. The problem is that we have to rejoin each
