freeRADIUS + krb5 + samba + AD
Hi, We are using freeRADIUS 1.1.6. + samba 3.0.1 + krb5-1.3.2 talk to active-directory(win2k3). Followed by: http://wiki.freeradius.org/FreeRADIUS_Active_Directory_Integration_HOWTO Now it can work. But there are multiple domains in active-directory. Can samba or krb5 support mutiple domains? How to configure krb5.conf and smb.conf can let it support multiple domains?

FW: AIX and libldap.a
In the configure file I find: --with-ldap LDAP support (default yes) What if I turn ldap off in that statement... What would the repercussions be? All I'm interested in doing is simple file sharing. By the way, what's the opposite of --with? --without? Thanks -----Original Message----- From: Doug VanLeuven [mailto:roamdad@sonic.net] Sent: Tuesday, April 12, 2005 5:57 PM To: Roy

Re: samba Digest, Vol 45, Issue 29
You really meant 300 _M_bps as the upper bound according to Enterasys. My switches are from Enterasys too. After a firmware updates I get about 722 Mbps both ways. The client's disk drive (Maxtor 250 GB) can't read or write faster. If you don't get transfer rates in the immediate neighbourhood of the read/write speeds of your client's disk drives, then your network setup (hardware

could not copy a file bigger than 1GB
Hi, I have installed Samba 2.2.8 on AIX 5.2 server. I tried to copy a file (around 106 GB) from win2k server to this AIX box. The "copy" process was stop when the file was copied up to 1GB. Do you know what was wrong? Is there anything I need to set on AIX server site in order to transfer large file? -Shujane

AIX/Samba vs. Large Files
I'm having trouble getting Samba 3.0.11 working properly on AIX 5.1.0.0. ?I've got a share set up, and I can connect fine, but I can't get it to transfer files >1GB. ?I've already set ulimit fsize to -1, and I can transfer large files via scp to the same directory just fine. ?The directory is on a JFS volume. There are no quotas on this system. I've even tried adding

Interesting interaction between journal recovery and slow boots
For some time now I have been puzzled as to why certain portions of my system boot were quite slow -- but only after journal recoveries. I was fearing that there was some ugly interaction between the recovery and the use of the journal shortly afterward but alas that is not the case. So just in case anybody else is seeing this problem and decides to try to hunt it down, let me save you some

Crash-report; 2.2.19pre14-ext3-0.0.6b
Our main NFS-server, running Debian Potato, died this morning whilst under quite heavy load - due to a runaway perl-script forking of some 200 instances of "/bin/cp" (the load was ~ 50). The server is running 2.2.19pre14 with ext3-0.0.6b. The server is running kernel-nfs. Assertion failure in journal_dirty_metadata() at transaction.c line 796: "bh->b_next_transaction ==

Help with Samba+JFS
I have a network server running FC5, with a hardware raid 3 card using 5 drives, as one large (1.2TB) partition in JFS. I chose JFS because of a recommendation for performance from a MythTV tutorial, but I don't really know much about file systems and am suspecting JFS to be causing my problems. I run samba, apache and MythTV on this machine, and there is essentially only one problem as far

XFS or JFS on CentOS 5?
Hi folks... trying to pick between jfs and xfs for a filesystem. In the past we've used jfs with CentOS + centosplus, however, an older post indicated that this may not be the best choice as the version of jfs included with the centosplus kernel would only be as new as the version that was included in the 2.6.18 kernel as RH doesn't backport fixes... It looks like xfs isn't part of

JFS in CentOS
Hello all, I'm relatively new to CentOS, but I've been using linux as my main operating system on both the desktop and server ends for the past 4 years. I currently have a PIII server with two 160GB IDE hard drives in it, in a virtual RAID 1 array. At the time of installation, the only FS choices for the largest partition, 120GB, were ext2 and ext3. I chose ext3, but now am wishing

Question about centosplus kernel and jfs...
Hello I run the latest kernel from centosplus and use a JFS partition. Even though the jfs tools are installed, when the server crashes, it doesn't run fsck.jfs automatically when at boot time it detects that the partition is corrupted I have to run fsck.jfs manually and mount the drive. Is there a way to make fsck.jfs run automatically if required ? (I recently moved from Fedora to
