A Samba's very basic problem
Hi everyone! I'm troubled in such a very simple problem I think. I've setup a samba server (version 2.0.7) in a linux machine (distro conectiva 6.0). I've configured the global, homes and printers sections correctly, or at least it seems to be. I've also added my other shared resources in the smb.conf file. Then when I start samba server, I can see the netbios name of my server

HELP: problem getting Samba to connect - "ERRSRV - ERRinvnetname"?
Dear list readers: I've installed the most recent Samba from source on my Redhat Linux server. The simple file share I've made shows up, the machine pings correctly, and does ftp and apache fine, but won't let anyone login to Samba. For example: $ smbclient '//WWW.PSYCH.UDEL.EDU/SIMPLE/' -U me added interface ip=128.175.41.164 bcast=128.175.41.255 nmask=255.255.255.0

tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRinvnetname (Invalid network name in tree connect.)
Hi all, I have been receiving the error "tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRinvnetname (Invalid network name in tree connect.)" for a while and I finally fixed it, but I have some questions about why it was happening. Firstly, it is Samba 2.0.7 running on Mandrake 8.0. My smb.conf file is at the end of this message. The machine's name is pinhead and in checking log.pinhead, I

Spaces in WinME Directory Names
Hello! I've finally gotten Samba and WinME to connect and see each other. On my WinME box I've got the usual My Documents folder which I'd like my Linux box to be able to use. I think there's a problem with the space in the directory name. smbmount //WinME/My Documents ~/mountpoint 2854: tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRinvnetname (Invalid network name in tree connect.) limit number of TCP connections.
Hi all. I have a simple question. Is that a way to limit the number os TCP or UDP connection of a single HOST in my network? For exemple: I have a host with IP 192.168.1.202 and he is using edonkey, Kazaa, and Bittorrent at the same time, and he also is infected by a virus that opens more than 500 TCP ports at the same time. So, i want to limit that host to be able to open no more then 30 TCP

filled.contour as image
Hi, Is there a way to make the filled.contour() function produce a plot similar to the image() function? i.e. not have smooth contours but rather distinct "squares" corresponding to the different cells of the matrix. The reason I ask is because since image doesn't have an option to display colour bars it is a lot less useful. Cheers Muri Soares Department of Maths and Applied
