smbmount'ed fs "dies" after a short time
I have a linux (RH6) client that smbmounts a filesystem
from an NT server. After some short unspecified period
of time, all attempts to access the mounted filesystem
on the linux box result in "Input/Output Error".
I can't even smbumount the file system (same error
message). The NT system continues to function, and
other MS clients (Win95 and NT) do not have any problems

package.skeleton() creates corrupted Rd file (PR#11191)
Calling package.skeleton() results in corrupted Rd-file stub on my
system. It (the file) is contaminated with mass question marks.
This happens only for package Rd file, Rd stubs for *package
functions* are generated nicely.
An example of bad Rd file created by package.skeleton():

par(mfrow = ) resets par('cex'), not reduces it (PR#13373)
help(par) says:
'mfcol, mfrow' ...
In a layout with exactly two rows and columns the base value of
'"cex"' is reduced by a factor of 0.83: if there are three or more
of either rows or columns, the reduction factor is 0.66.
In reality, par(mfrow =) *resets* par ('cex'), not reduces it as
documented. To reproduce:

Code contribution
Hello group!
I mantain my own package cmrutils which is available under the GPL:
http[s]://aparamon.msk.ru/svn/study/R-packages/cmrutils
I don't want to put it to CRAN yet because it mostly consists of
specialized helper functions which are presumably not valuable for
other people.
But I think 2 of the functions are general and useful enough to share
the code. Do you think it is worth to

Using odesolve to produce non-negative solutions
Hello,
I am using odesolve to simulate a group of people moving through time and transmitting infections to one another.
In Matlab, there is a NonNegative option which tells the Matlab solver to keep the vector elements of the ODE solution non-negative at all times. What is the right way to do this in R?
Thanks,
Jeremy
P.S., Below is a simplified version of the code I use to try to do this,

forcing codepage for non-unicode apps
Hello.
I've a problem running a few apps that are supposed to output some
text in Russian, but it's not displayed correctly (instead it looks
like text in the web browser when wrong charset is selected).
I think these applications try to use GDI or standart Windows
controls with non-unicode text in Windows-1251 Cyrillic codepage
and it doesn't work. AFAIK in Windows XP there was
