''dependencies'' and RedCloth
Hey gang. Jed noticed an issue with the ''dependency''/''dependencies'' macro the other day when working on the Collective wiki. Namely, if you make RedCloth a dependency Merb gets a little cranky. I think I have this figured out when doing some mods to Collective today too. However, before I go trying to fix this in Merb, I wanted to run this by the community.

[SOLVED] Samba 4: 'Access denied' error when accessing user profile during logon
Hai, Sorry to say but.. > The solution (following the default how-to directories structure): No, the solution is to setup correctly. Just do a a small test here to see if its all correct. With a windows computer, browse to \\server Right klik the profiles share, check security. If this is set correct, the user should not be able to see the rights. Repaet, now as Adminsitrator.

Access denied
Hello, We're running Centos 7 with samba 4.7.1 and we have an AD on WS2012 R2, so all users and groups are already created on the AD. The idea is to logon with the credential from de AD to the samba file server. We configured the smb.conf, acording to the samba wiki, so this is the result: [global] security = ADS workgroup = MYDOMAIN realm = MYDOMAIN.COM

Interesting catalog: Viking Electronics
This is not specifically Asterisk-related, but I think that sometimes a "pre-emptive" clue is a good thing. Viking Electronics (http://www.vikingelectronics.com/) has some neat widgets that attach to phone lines, which I'm sure many of the people on this list would find at least somewhat useful in conjunction with their Asterisk systems. Many of the widgets can be replaced with

Access denied editing DNS using RSAT
Hello, I'm trying to replace an old Windows Server 2003 with Samba 4 and I've got a problem trying to add some DNS entries. When I open the RSAT DNS manager I got an Access Denied error and I can't edit the zones. My config file is the generated by samba-tool and I'm using Samba 4.7.0rc5 compiled on a Debian 8 amd64: [global] netbios name = DC1 realm = DOMAIN.DOM

problems using --ignore-existing and filter rules
Greetings everyone, I have a problem which I believe is a collision between the --ignore-existing option and filter rules. It appears to me that regardless of argument order, when I specify the two on a command line, even if a non-existing directory appears in the filter list as a protect rule. But when I change protect rules to exclude rules, the excluded files/directories appear not to be

FW: Access Denied
I just realized that I have been trying this from only one other machine and maybe it was something to do with NT. I tried to mount from a Win 95 machine and it works just fine. I guess it's the NT authentication problem. Do I need to be Administrator on the NT box if I point my SAMBA box to the NT box for authentication? Thank you, Paul- ---------- From: "Paul Woods"

Viking CPC-Disconnect
Someone on the list a while back suggested that if you were having problems with call disconnects, to look into a product from Viking TellecomSolutions called cpc-disconnect: http://www.vikingtelecomsolutions.com/catalog/model_CPC-1.htm I received my unit on Friday and put it into place Saturday afternoon (SBC in this area doesn't supply call disconnect supervision). The unit was acting

Permission denied but works anyway
I've just updated from 99.14 to 1.0.a3 on a FreeBSD box. Everything went fine, except for a bit of flakyness from Thunderbird. When first checking a mail box in Thunderbird (running on Win2k), I get a message saying that the command can't be carried out and the server answered "Permission denied". I click OK and everything works fine. As long as Thunderbird stays open, the

No NT Access after Upgrade
Hello Samba-Pros, I just upgraded from 1.9.18 to 2.0.6, from kernel 2.0.x to 2.2.13 (SuSE 6.3) and to a faster machine. I thought just copying smb.conf, passwd, group, shadow, smbpasswd and my smbusermap should be enough to get the new samba work. All connections from localhost work fine, but suddenly I cannot connect from the NT-boxes. Samba seems to reject my password. It shouldn't be the

[SOLVED] Samba 4: 'Access denied' error when accessing user profile during logon
Hello Louis, In fact, the shares mentioned in my original messages are used in Windows-only. The accounts, however, are used in both Windows and Unix-type environments (we have quite a zoo of OSes in active use); so we actually use the Posix part of accounts for attributes and Kerberos component to authenticate in all non-Windows use. So my primary intent is to make the homes/profiles shares

Conflict with openwatcom (wrc)
Whoops. Sorry about that. I wasn't supposed to actually have that as a reply, it was meant to be another top-level post. To summarise, wrc in the Mandriva wine-1.1.0 RPM available from Sourceforge conflicts with the name of "wrc" in openwatcom, which is also a Win32 resource compiler. Cheers, The Viking, Flying Brick Systems.

What to do about "Network Password?"
I'm stuck getting Samba to permit my copy of win98 (running in a VMware virtual machine) to connect to the linux host. Specs: Samba-2.04b installed via rpm on a Red Hat 5.2 system (kernel 2.0.36). For whatever reason, win98 is asking for a network password when I click on the icon for the linux box in Network Neighborhood. When I installed samba via the rpm, I have no recollection of

Access Denied when trying to change permissions on Samba share
Hello I was using Redhat 7.3 with the default samba package 2.0.7.xx and then upgraded to Redhat 9.0 and currently using samba-2.2.7a-8.9.0. Prior to the upgrade users were able to change permissions on files/directories they owned as well as write to those file which had write access enabled. After the upgrade this is no longer possible. If I open the Samba share in Network Neighborhood on a
