tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME
Hello everyone! I've searched the archives and seen this problem crop up a couple of different times. None of the solutions I've found seemed to have worked. Here's the synopsis: I've recently installed FC4 and samba shares for home directories should work right out of the box. Default settings, etc... I get this error: sohmc@bart:~$ smbclient //127.0.0.1/sohmc added

Resolve Domain
Dear list, Samba allows our school to use on non-free operation systems on work stations. Or should I rather put it this way: In combination with Debian-Edu, Samba allows us to use free operations systems on servers and work stations despite the fact that some colleagues stick to Windows... Now, we observe a problem that still needs to be examined further on: If the server has been running

Samba Errors with 3.0.21b on AIX -- please help
I have been trying for 3 weeks to get 3.0.21b to work on AIX 5.2. I am currently running 3.0.4, which has no problems. I am getting very frustrated, and am about to give up entirely on Samba. cant authenticate Samba -> AD trying to map to shares on samba server
I have read through previous posts but still cant connect to samba shares - any help much appreciated. Running Samba 3.0.10-1 on fedora Core 2. Dont know anything about AD as it's looked after by the big boys and they wont share their secrets with the linux team. I do know the server I need to authenticate with is acting as some sort of time server so I assume that is not an issue.

Problem with tar commands in smbclient 3.0.23c
Since upgrading from CentOS 4.3 to CentOS 5 the smbclient tar commands seem to be broken. The version on 4.3 was 3.0.10 I believe, while on 5 it is 3.0.23c-2. Here's what happens. Running the command: $ /usr/bin/smbclient \\\\host.domain.com\\backup -A /tmp/ntcredentials works fine. It connects no problem. But: $ /usr/bin/smbclient \\\\host.domain.com\\backup -A /tmp/ntcredentials -Tc

Unable to set ACLs with Samba 3.0.11, near publication deadline
Hello, Jeremy and Jerry, I met both of you at LinuxWorld in Boston, where I learned tons and tons of great stuff from your presentations. I'm writing on deadline for publication and would really, really, really like to show off Samba's ability to map NT ACLs to POSIX ACLs. But right now, I can't make them work. I've spent some time on the Samba list trying to make this work, but
