ACL Question [Repost]
OK so I've got samba-3.0.11 compiled with ACL support. I've running
2.4.25 with the ACL/ATTR patch applied. I can read and set ACLS's using
the getfacl/setfacl programs. ldd /usr/sbin/smbd shows it's linked to
libattr.so.1 and libacl.so.1. I can read ACL with the smbcacls program,
but when I try to set them I get:

C7: screensaver locks screen
Strange thing just began happening this past weekend with my Centos-7
netbook (using the MATE desktop, which may mean it's an EPEL problem...).
the lock screen checkbox in the screensaver's UI is NOT checked.
I've even used the dconf editor to uncheck ALL the boxes in the
screensaver section that relate to locking the screen.
nada. no such luck.
even after rebooting, it still locks

Samba - NT ACL implemented by Unix Posix ACL via Samba
Hi,
Hopefully some Samba gurus are interested in some of my questions about
Samba ACL this is more in technical detail.
1. Why Samba always think the owner always has 'READ' access right on
a file, 'READ and WRITE' access rights on a directory? I checked the code of
posix_acls.c, those bits are OR-ed by default
2. Try to create a folder via the Samba Win2k

Samba 3.5.6 and ACL patch
I have Samba 3.5.6 running patched with the ACL jumbo patch. When checking
the properties of directories under a Samba share, I do not see differences
in the mapping of users and permissions for directories from the un-patched
version. I still get "CREATOR OWNER" and "CREATOR GROUP" showing up in the
security tab under properties.
This could be an install/configuration

VFS ACL modules - question to developers
Hi!
I have few question to developers of VFS ACL modules (acl_tdb and acl_xattr):
1. Do you plan to extend quantity of entries in acl_tdb (now I can write 22 user ACLs plus CREATOR OWNER, CREATOR GROUP, domain users and everyone)
2. Do you plan to fix few ACLs eg. Traverse folder / Execute file (to traverse I need to enable additional permission List folder / read data to traverse through

ACL -Manage with Windows security tab?
Hi Guys,
I am attempting to configure AC:L's I have enabled it in smb.conf for my
share and remounted my fs with acl enabled. However if I attempt to edit
security permissions for the group "Domain Users" it creates two more
group "CREATOR GROUP" and "CREATOR OWNER" and refreshes the security
properties and then just resets the tick boxes i had selected.

I am already have 'vfs objects = zfsacl' set for my ZFS shares so
acl_xattr does not help at all.

AW: Samba - NT ACL implemented by Unix Posix ACL via Samb a
I'm not an expert on that, but did you tried the following settings on
smb.conf for your share :
admin users = NTDOMAIN+Administrator
valid users = .....
I think this is necessary to use ACL with samba and ntdomain...

Hi all,

If I reboot the client it logs on to the PDC properly
The ldap directory is replicated on the fileserver but i did not configure

Everyone group difference between ACL/no ACLs. (follow-up)
More questions! :)
By setting create mask = 0700 directory mask = 0700 directory security mask
= 0700 I get a sort-of-work around to the issue, but then I can't add the
Everyone group back in! The Everyone group will turn into CREATOR OWNER the
moment I hit "Apply." This creates the following output from getfacls:
# file: tdickson
# owner: tdickson
# group: root
user::rwx

Try this:
1. Make sure your domain groups and users are recognized on the member server.
At the very least,
$ getent passwd

Dovecot v1.2 ACL inheritance for new subfolders (aka copying ACLs)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello,
http://wiki.dovecot.org/ACL mentions:
"Currently there is no ACL inheritance."
However this applies to a folder inherit ACLs to existing subfolders; when
you share a folder and a non-owner creates a sub-folder within, no ACLs
are set, hence, the creator cannot access the new folder. Could the

acl sticky bit?
Sorry to ask a windows question her but I didn't know if a windows group
would know about the sticky bit.
I have a windows server that is our primary file server in our samba
domain. I am hoping that windows as something like the sticky bit that can
be set on a folder where in only the creator of the file can modify the
file. Any easy way to do this using ntfs acls ?

ACL Security-tab missing users and groups
Hi!
I'm using Samba 3.0 pdc with Debian Woody, LDAP and ACL-support. ACL works
great, but if I try to ADD an acl-permission via windows security-tab there
is none to choose from. It shows that my domain is selected and there are
some basic users (Everyone, Authenticated users, CREATOR-OWNER etc.) that
can be chosen, but no users or groups of mine.
Is this by design or am I missing
