secuirty bug with /etc/login.access
/etc/login.access does not work 100% over ssh.
I have the following line in login.access
-:ray:ALL EXCEPT LOCAL
Which I believe means the user 'ray' can not login from anywhere unless
it is a local login.
So, I tested it over ssh from a remote box
tigger@piglet:~% ssh ray@sonic.cbnmediaX.com.au

pxelinux: unable to boot from local disk
Hello,
on a somewhat recent machine (Dell T1600) I'm unable to use my usual setup
(pxelinux as a boatloader also for local OS - typically windows). The BIOS
is capable of using UEFI, but this is turned off.
Unfortunately all I get is a message telling me that pxelinux is unable to
boot from local disk.
The config entry looks like this:
LABEL local
MENU LABEL OS installed on local disk

fixing user, group, and mtime with rsync?
Hi all.
I prepared a mirror (that is intended to be updated by rsync)
by doing the initial copy using cpio (for efficiency on 15 million files).
Unfortunately, user, group, and mtime of some directories and files
was copied incorrectly.
Can I use rsync (GIT) to fix this?
Greetings
Sven

winbindd 4.1.7 resolves group memberships for all but primary group
We're using a bunch of AD groups ? all users/groups are created and
managed with ADUC. Domain Users is the primary group for all users, plus
a few for our departments (and Domain Admins). All groups have their
posixGroup attributes filled out.
wbinfo --group-info and getent group show the correct membership for all
groups except Domain Users.

/etc/group localed in /var/spool/public as a maildir with subfolders for
each group (which should only be visible for that group and also secured

Unable to "show" a group using samba-tool
Howdy!
I'm setting up a domain controller, and things are going wonderfully,
but I'm running into a strange problem, only some groups will display
using the `samba-tool group show` command.

pxelinux 5.0 unable to boot virtual box
Hello,
testing the localboot stuff I figured out that I'm unable to pxe-boot
virtualbox with pxelinux 5.0 at all. Everything works fine in 4.05 though.
This is virtualbox 4.1.18 from debian wheezy emulation a PCnet-Fast III
Network Interface because the default emulated card from Intel does not
support PXE in virtualbox.

Can someone please help with this sip2sip pjsip_wizard "no matching endpoint" issue?
Using pjsip 2.7.2 on Asterisk 15.5
Really struggling to make sense of translating these old 1.8 SIP
instructions into a neat pjsip_wizard conf suitable for 2018
http://wiki.sip2sip.info/projects/sip2sip/wiki/SipDevicesAsterisk#Version-18
In pjsip_wizard.conf, I have the following, which seems to get me
registered, and it responds to an incoming call, but I always get
this:

Newbie: how to calculate group averagege?
Dear R-List,
I?m new in R, so I hope my question is not to primitive, but I haven?t
found a solution in the R-help. I?ve got a datatframe with 3 factors,
called xf (9 levels), yf (9 levels), zf (3 levels) and one variable
(rt):

SGI XFS 1.0.2a, ACLs and samba 2.2.3a with win2k perms
Hi,
I haven't been able to find any doco that explicity states whether it is
supported, so I am hoping someone out there can answer the following
questions:
Is it possible for a folder/file in a samba share to have win2k security
permissions assigned to it? For example, I want my samba server to
participate in an existing Win2k domain. I want users to be able to set
their own

sysvolreset doesn't reset all ACLs
Ok, rechecked this, your correct. This did work fine.
In now at samba 4.6.7, you?
This worked untill ( last i checked ) 4.6.5 :-(( now sysvolreset is totaly broken. :-((
New thing for my ToDo list..
Try this script, the rights are my defaults "after a sysvol reset"
Place the script somewhere within /var/lib/samba
Preffered that location .
Run it with : bash script.sh sysvol/
!
