Open source streaming project in need of developers
Hi everyone, I thought long and hard (ok, not *that* long) about whether or not to crosspost this to icecast-dev. In the end I decided not to since this isn't about an Icecast or Xiph project. My name is Geoff Shang and I've been an enthusiastic user of Icecast for a long time. I am also the chief tech guy for a project called ACB Radio (http://www.acbradio.org), which is run by

Centos 6.6 Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket /var/lib/MySQL/MySQL.sock (error 2002)‏
Hi Total newby to centos I am currently assisting a community radio station set up in the Uk we are using a server based system for our playout software, unfortunately at the moment one of our client servers is experience the above error I came across the error on our main server a few weeks ago and found the solution just by reinstalling the MySQL db but I have tried to deploy the same fix on

EZStream Question
Can it, or will it ever be able to, process .CUE files along with the MP3 streams? If not, this would be a *VERY* VERY* valuable feature, as a popular playout system in common use can now create .CUE files when recording programs for later airing.

samba-2.2.8a-220 and OSX
Hi to all. We have a samba-2.2.8a-220 Server. The server works still fine with several clients (W9x, W2k, WXP and smbmounts via Linux). But now I have to connect an Apple OSX and now I have one problem. From OSX I can connect to the shares, browse the file listing. But when a file is copied into a share, the file is on the destination with 0 (zero) Bytes filesize. The linux uid and gid are

Android App for Icecast Administration
Hi Thomas, > As this is historical data I don't see any reason why you'd try to get > this through the web interface. The use case is when there is an Icecast service, but there might not be shell access to that server. So we have a stats interface in Airtime that only needs the admin password to create a listener count graph against time. > Chances are, that there you'd

Centos 6.6 Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket /var/lib/MySQL/MySQL.sock (error 2002)‏
I cannot say if it ever worked I have inherited the sorting out of our servers at the radio station due to it being run by volunteers and as in all volunteer organisations people come and go I did do some research on the internet and tried various commands in the terminal but kept on getting MySQL does not exist yet when I tried the locate MySQL I did get an output with various directories and

rsync-2.5.6 performance sucks between winXP and Solaris8
If I try to rsync OpenOffice-directory (OO as an example, 155 MBytes) to Solaris8-machine/rsync-server it takes 4-5 minutes, about 70 MBytes gets transfered and eventually rsync.exe/winXP "dies"; actually winXP's net doesn't responde anymore and I have to boot whole machine! But when I try to do same between Linux and Solaris everything works fine, transfer speed is about

metadata sent from windows based system
Hello Everybody, We develop a Windows based radio broadcast system for professional radios and we would like to implant an interface in this system to make it able to automatically update metadata of an OGG (!) stream (recorded from the radio) sent to an Icecast 2.0.2 server. We read about the curl --user admin:hackme

xls to csv conversion via WinXP's context menu?
Frequently I need to convert a .xls to a .csv (for import into R) and I do this by opening the file in excel and saving it as a csv. I would rather do this using WinXP's context menu (right click the xls, choose "convert to csv") but I don't know of a utility that does this. Any ideas? Thanks, Mark

But you're right about the bugs. The critical (i.e. urgent) ones in no particular order: 1. PRS will disconnect from Icecast after a certain amount of time

Android App for Icecast Administration

WinXP and Samba PDC Auth Problem
I have been running a Samba PDC with Samba version 3.0.0 on Redhat 7.3 for quite some time. My WinXP Pro SP2 system is part of the domain and everything has been working just peachy. And then, of course, I had to tinker with it. I upgraded the linux box to Whitebox Linux 3.0, a derivative of Redhat Enterprise Linux 3.0. It comes with Samba 3.0.7. After installing and updating everything, I

package "growth" ... where is it ?
I would like to install the package "growth" as it contains the function "corgram" and some other presumably useful stuff for time series analysis. I can see it is in R standard library list: http://hosho.ees.hokudai.ac.jp/~kubo/Rdoc/doc/html/packages.html<http://hosho.ees.hokudai.ac.jp/%7Ekubo/Rdoc/doc/html/packages.html>

Growth calculation
Hi, This is not a sophisticated statistics question as the subject suggests. But I am logging data - number of user sessions in a web application - before and after new users are migrated. I use R to graph but I am looking for a way to quantify the growth in the number of user sessions. As more users are now using the web application there is a growth. What is the way to measure this

stochastic growth rate (package biopop)
Dear all, I am running matrix population models using package "popbio". In a deterministic model {i.e., transition matrix is defined as A <- matrix(c(0.70, 0.70,0.35,0.50), nrow=2,byrow=TRUE}, population growth rate can be estimated from the dominant eigenvalue {command "eigen.analysis"}. However, I cannot figure out the way to compute the asymptotic stochastic population

Adjusting for initial status (intercept) in lme growth models
Hi everyone, I have a quick and probably easy question about lme for this list. Say, for instance you want to model growth in pituitary distance as a function of age in the Orthodont dataset. fm1 = lme(distance ~ I(age-8), random = ~ 1 + I(age-8) | Subject, data = Orthodont) You notice that there is substantial variability in the intercepts (initial distance) for people at 8 years, and that
