Samba and OS2 changeover
Here is the deal.. My company is currently running all of there file shares
on an OS2 box that is attached to our as400. This has caused many problems
with the as400 so we are going to move over to using Samba for file storage
/ network run applications. My question is this. I am planning to "clone"
all the shares on our OS2 box with the Samba server that I have created,

syncing unix passwords
I give up. I had this working and now it isn't and I don't know why. I was
able to sync unix password using smbpasswd but now it won't work. When I
run smbpasswd it changes the samba password but acts like it doesn't even
see the parameters in the smb.conf to change the unix password.
Here is a sample changing session:
as400:# ./smbpasswd xxxxxx

UPDATE: syncing unix passwords
I have some new information concerning this issue. I am now able to change
both the samba and unix passwords as anyone but root. If I try as root I
only am able to change the samba password but not the unix password. I can
do this at the unix prompt as well as in swat. So it works but why root
can't change both of them makes no sense to me. root can't even change both

Problems Printing w/ Caldera OpenServer
I am having problems getting Samba configured so I can print. I am going from Windows XP to Samba. I don't get any error messages in Windows saying that there is a problem. It sends the document then that is it. It is like the document gets lost. I am able to print through Linux and WebMin. What should I look at next? I am using the latest version of Caldera OpenServer. I believe the version

Monitor Modules
Hello Everyone,
I am porting ssh IBM's AS400 and am having a hard time with the monitor
modules (monitor.c, monitor_fdpass.c, monitor_mml.c, monitor_wrap.c) I first
of all don't understand what these modules are doing, and the parts I do
understand don't make sense to me. So if anyone out there could be soo kind
to help me out with this issue I would be greatly appreciative.

SSH/SSL Help...
Hello Everybody,
I am porting SSH to the AS400 and am having some
problems in the linking stage. There are some SSL
components that have function prototypes defined but
no function definitions for the prototypes. Functions
like PBEPARAM_free from the file p5_pbe.c and
DSA_SIG_free from the file dsa_asn1.c. I have noticed
that these functions are both prototyped and defined

Best way to organize non-controller logic???
I don''t want to put certain code in my controller because I think it
makes things more confusing.
What is the best way to manage business logic such that it doesn''t end
up in the controller?
Basically, where should I put my regular utility classes and backing
objects that may not be models?
Thanks,
Wes

Temp fix for users getting smb_trans2: invalid data in messages log file
Hello all,
I was having this problem and finally found a temp fix for it. The symptoms
seem to be this:
--> You are on a linux client
--> You have mounted a samba drive from you linux client to a linux server.
--> When you try to make modifications or copy file from your client to the
server, it takes a long time or times-out.
--> Your /var/log/mesages file states smb_trans2:

smb_trans2: invalid data
Hello everyone,
I have tried to solve out the 'smb_trans2: invalid data' by 'unix extensions =
no' as it was written in one of the previous mails. Still I have a bad
problem:
when I mount like this:
mount.smbfs //server/service /local_dir -o
username=my_remote_login,uid=my_local_login,gid=users,rw
and then I try to copy a file to /local_dir as the user my_local_login, the

Unable to save files to share
Following the recent "trans2" exploit announcement, SuSE released kernel
2.6.5-7.111.5 to deal with it. I've installed the kernel upgrade on my
desktop (SuSE 9.1, Samba 3.0.4). However, with this kernel, when I try
to save to a share on my server (Samba 2.2.8), I get this set of error
messages:

Extract a MOS value from Asterisk CDR
Hello all,
I'm tring to retrieve a formula to calculate a MOS value from Asterisk RTCP
stats...
Have you got any idea how to do it?
Thanks
I'm reading all G.107 ITU docs to retrieve something...
I'm saving the SIP RTCP stats with:
[macro-hangupcall]
exten => s,1,Set(CDR(userfield)=${CHANNEL(rtpqos|audio|all)})
exten => s,n,ResetCDR(vw)
exten => s,n,NoCDR()
So I retrieve

Asterisk + OpenSIPs Integration - Rewrite URI on Trunk Numbers of a SIP Trunk
Hello All,
I have a little complicated question about the Dial command.
I use OpenSIPs to loadbalance Asterisk Servers, and Users are registered on Asterisk servers.
Asterisk use the Reg. Contact entry to reach the UAC via the OpenSIPs server. Everything works except for trunk numbers:
For each peer on Asterisk, "Addr->IP" is IP of the Proxy and "Reg. Contact" is the IP

Asterisk 1.4.26 final release - What is blocking?
Hello everybody,
I was wondering what is postponing the 1.4.26 release? I thought it was
scheculed for last week.
Is there something we can do to help to release this version?
There is no more issue reported on https://issues.asterisk.org/ for the time
being.
Best Regards,

Kerberos to file server
Howdy,
I may be approaching this problem entirely wrong, or not. Was hoping for a
little guidance one way or the other.
I've got this AS/400 with gobs of unused file storage on it that I want to
share across as a file server to a FreeBSD box. The AS/400 side of things
supports NFS and kinda pretends to be a Unix like machine in this role.
Users will be booting from diskless clients
