Does anyone have this card working in hardware RAID mode? I can see the individual ATA drivers when booting. The promise site has drivers for Redhat 7.3,8 and 9, but nothing for higher. Does anybody know whether it is possible to enable MD5 passwords for NIS and local passwords? Is it just a matter of running authconfig --enablemd5 and new passwords will use MD5 and old ones will still work? Of course using LDAP might be a "better" solution (if it was easy to install). What are the pros and cons of using NIS authentication with Samba? Also any pointer/docs in setting up Samba with NIS Authentication.
