Samba 3.0.9 doesn't remove printjobs ?
Hello!
I'm using samba with CUPS printing (with raw passthru)
for a long time now and it worked very well.
But after upgrading my samba installation from 3.0.2 to 3.0.9,
the printjobs (sent from XP Workstations) aren't
removed from the joblist anymore.
Means: the job is printed correctly, but opening the
printqueue on the XP machine still contains the job
(not only mine, but jobs from

Re-4: Samba 3.0.9 doesn't remove printjobs ?
I modified the CUPS access rights (defined in cupsd.conf).
Before that only users of administrative group had access to
the printer configuration parts.
Now I removed all access restrictions, so that anyone
can access all CUPS services (printers, jobs, ...)
(we use this, because sometimes we need to hold printers manually ...).
But, as I mentioned, I don't find the relationship

completed printjobs stay in queue after "upgrade" 3.0.20rc2 -> 3.0.20
A few weeks ago, I upgraded Samba 3.0.1x to 3.0.14a . After the upgrade,
all completed printjobs on all 40 printers stayed in samba's print queue
(they were removed from the unix-printqueue). When I installed
3.0.20rc2, everything back to normal.
But since the upgrade this weekend to 3.0.20, the same thing happens
again: no jobs were removed from the samba printerqueue's.

Can' t delete printjobs spooled in cups
Hi,
i learned a lot about cups, samba and printerdrivers the last few days
and hours. I found a lot of mistakes but i can't change the following
situation:
I CAN NOT delete printjobs!
I can connect to the printers, automatic download the driver, print,
stop the printer, start the printer.
Any tips, links, hints would be nice.
My setup: Debian Sarge - Samba 3.0.14a - Cups 1.1.23. nss_ldap

completed printjobs stay in queue
Jerry,
I'm very sorry for this late answer. I should tweak my mailfilters (I
didn't expect an answer anymore so I didn't check my samba-mailfolder)
That's our situation:
- I tried to revert to 3.0.20rc2 and got the error again
- I installed 3.0.20 again and rebooted, and the problem went away! (I'm
sure that all smbd, nmbd and winbindd daemons were killed before the

Update second pulldown menu based on first menu selection?
I know I''ve seen this somewhere on this board and just can''t search it
anymore.
I have three relational tables: clients, projects, and tasks. Currently
I''m working on customizing the ''new/edit'' task _form. So far I have it
listing clients in a pulldown menu so I can assign the new task to a
client. I''d like to have a second pulldown select

iplanet ldap and samba
Is there a good how-to on getting samba to work
with Iplanet LDAP ? I already installed it and started
configuring from bits and pieces I could find with google, but
there're still many things missing. I also found a posting that said
samba schema for Iplanet5 shipped with Samba 3.0.8 isn't up to date.
What would need to be changed ?
Basically I'm looking for a complete walkthrough,

Declare the function:
int yipee(int);
int main()
{
int dd = yipee(1);
return 0;
}
If that still crashes, put a breakpoint on `yipee' and see if the
execution gets there, if the argument is

Samba spoolfile name
L.S.
Situation:
I am running Samba 2.2.7a as my DPC in a small business network with win98/ME clients.
A big Fiery printer/scanner/copier device is also part of this network. It has its own printserver.
Since Win98/ME can not print to an LPD queue directly, I have setup Samba to spool the printjobs send by the clients to the Fiery server.
All is working well, but there is a small problem.

Replacing WinNT 4 PDC with Samba PDC
Hi All!
Thanks to all of you that responded to my previous posts. I've gotten a lot
more info now than I used to have!
But I still have questions. The biggest right now is: Is there a way build
up a Samba PDC as a direct replacement for an existing Windows NT 4.0 PDC?
All the material I've found to date is written from a standpoint of creating
a new domain as you create the Samba

Hi,
I am using Version 3.0.2a of samba on Linux 2.4.18 (suse with self-compiled samba from tarball)

After some weeks with some thousand printjobs generated by a program running as W2k-service the printer was no more available.

Printing to samba server doesn't work
Well, not like it should. I can capture a printer with the "net use
lpt1:" command, but I would really like to be able to print to any one
of the three printers in my printcap.
NT gives me the error: "The parameter is incorrect". I attached the
error message screen below, in .png format.
This worked for the last printer I had. All I changed was the printer

PDC/BDC Domain Logins Samba 2.2.7
We're about to start migrating from Windows NT 4.0 to a Samba controlled
setup. I've got a question about the functionality of the Samba PDCs and
BDCs.
In my Windows setup I have three domains that are defined by geographic
locations. Each of these domains "trusts" the other. In Samba 2.2.7, I
can't have the trusts, so I'm looking at creating one giant domain that

Samba, CUPS and Windows Printer Queue
I've had a Samba 3.0.2 Print Server running for nearly 7 months now without
too much of a hitch on RedHat Enterprise "ES" 3.0. Late last week, RedHat
issued an Errata that moved Samba from the 3.0.2 base to the 3.0.4 base. So
when I did the "up2date" this weekend as part of my normal maintenance, this
server was updated and everything appeared to be fine.
