Re-2: Samba 3.0.9 doesn't remove printjobs ?
That was a good hint! Yes, I've installed SP2, and it realy seems to be the Problem. Now I've checked that on a machine with SP1 - and the jobs from the same printqueue are removed correctly there! -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [Samba] Samba 3.0.9 doesn't remove printjobs ? Re-4: Samba 3.0.9 doesn't remove printjobs ?
I modified the CUPS access rights (defined in cupsd.conf). Before that only users of administrative group had access to the printer configuration parts. Now I removed all access restrictions, so that anyone can access all CUPS services (printers, jobs, ...) (we use this, because sometimes we need to hold printers manually ...). But, as I mentioned, I don't find the relationship between this

completed printjobs stay in queue after "upgrade" 3.0.20rc2 -> 3.0.20
A few weeks ago, I upgraded Samba 3.0.1x to 3.0.14a . After the upgrade, all completed printjobs on all 40 printers stayed in samba's print queue (they were removed from the unix-printqueue). When I installed 3.0.20rc2, everything back to normal. But since the upgrade this weekend to 3.0.20, the same thing happens again: no jobs were removed from the samba printerqueue's. Removing

Hello, some of my servers regularly come up with this error, which makes printing over samba impossible: Mar 6 09:06:44 server smbd[4431]: [2007/03/06 09:06:44, 0] tdb/tdbutil.c:tdb_log(772) Mar 6 09:06:44 server smbd[4431]: tdb(/var/cache/samba/printing/printer.tdb): rec_read bad magic 0xd9fee666 at offset=22796 Searching mailing lists, I just found the "solution" to stop

Can' t delete printjobs spooled in cups
Hi, i learned a lot about cups, samba and printerdrivers the last few days and hours. I found a lot of mistakes but i can't change the following situation: I CAN NOT delete printjobs! I can connect to the printers, automatic download the driver, print, stop the printer, start the printer. Any tips, links, hints would be nice. My setup: Debian Sarge - Samba 3.0.14a - Cups 1.1.23. nss_ldap

completed printjobs stay in queue
Jerry, I'm very sorry for this late answer. I should tweak my mailfilters (I didn't expect an answer anymore so I didn't check my samba-mailfolder) That's our situation: - I tried to revert to 3.0.20rc2 and got the error again - I installed 3.0.20 again and rebooted, and the problem went away! (I'm sure that all smbd, nmbd and winbindd daemons were killed before the

smbstatus - switched off computers are sometimes showed
I have a Samba server configured as PDC for ~100 computers. It's version 3.0.24 running on Debian Etch (distribution package). I want to write a tool for user logon/logoff tracking. Because parsing log files is hard job (windows frequently disconnets or connects during user session or etc.) I decide to use smbstatus output which seem to be reliable. So I run smbstatus binary every 10

Adding printer drivers from WinXP
Well I'm trying to setup the Samba server to act as a print server too. I had uploaded the drivers for the 4 printers we have and I installed all 4 printers on my test computer and it worked well. But when I got back from my vacations one of the tech told me that he couldn't install the printer drivers from the server and when I check the driver didn't seem to be in the driver list

Samba stops working on HP-UX 11
I've had a consistent problem with Samba from 2.2.1 onwards, maybe even before then, I'm not sure when it started. Anyway, Samba will randomly stop responding to any requests, although it usually occurs after transfering large amounts of data (1 GB+). To get around the problem, I've been restarting samba every night, but we still have the problem occasionally. smbclient shows:

Update second pulldown menu based on first menu selection?
I know I''ve seen this somewhere on this board and just can''t search it anymore. I have three relational tables: clients, projects, and tasks. Currently I''m working on customizing the ''new/edit'' task _form. So far I have it listing clients in a pulldown menu so I can assign the new task to a client. I''d like to have a second pulldown select

Countless "rec_read bad magic" lines in log.smbd
One of the servers we admin has countless such errors in log.smbd: [2007/05/07 14:17:08, 0] tdb/tdbutil.c:tdb_log(783) tdb(/var/cache/samba/printing/HPLJ3600.tdb): rec_read bad magic 0x443810ec at offset=28412 The only thread I saw regarding "rec_read" stated: <><><><><> If this really happens often to you, then you have some basic problems with your

Samba spoolfile name
L.S. Situation: I am running Samba 2.2.7a as my DPC in a small business network with win98/ME clients. A big Fiery printer/scanner/copier device is also part of this network. It has its own printserver. Since Win98/ME can not print to an LPD queue directly, I have setup Samba to spool the printjobs send by the clients to the Fiery server. All is working well, but there is a small problem. This
