SMB + Active Directory And No Ability To Delete Files And Folders
I hope that everyone is doing well. I'm new to the list and look forward to participating in the community. I've been using Samba for a long time and have always preached the samba gospel. :-) I find myself with a peculiar problem. I have a RHEL6 install running Samba Version 3.5.4-68.el6_0.2 acting a local file server and it is tied into an Active Directory server for the user

Simple OCSP server ??
Hello list, I'm contemplating running my own CA to implement the new proposed ISP for validation of S/MIME certificates via DANE. I already use self-signed for my MX servers (with 3 1 1 dane records on TCP port 25) but I don't want to use self-signed for S/MIME for user specific x.509 certs because A) That's potentially a lot of DNS records B) That requires a hash of the e-mail

Simple active record issue. I must be missing something.
Here''s a seemingly simple ActiveRecord use case. I have Projects and Users. Each project has a single team leader as well as a review team that consists of several users. I would like to use the same User model for authentication and just reference these users in my Project model. I tried this but got an "unknown column" error (for User.project_id) class Project has_one

Active Record and consistency
I''m running into a bit of a ideological and functional problem with ActiveRecord and would like to find out if some of these concerns are valid. Hopefully someone here already knows the answer... The concerns are that ActiveRecord has a lot of activity involving data validation (validates_uniqueness_of, validates_associated) and model definition (belongs_to, has_many, has_one).

Select menu validation
Is there a trick to validating select menus? I have this rule: validates_presence_of :title, :type :title is a text box and validates correctly but :type doesn''t: <p> <label for="resource_type">Type</label><br/> <select name="resource[type]" id="resource_type"> <option value=""

Validating Umlauts
Hi there, I''m building a rails application for German and English speakers. However, I''m having some problems validating German-specific characters (????). I have a tag-model which validates format of :name, :with => /^\w+$/. This throws an exception if german characters are used. My tables are all utf-8 and my environment.rb has the lines $KCODE = ''u''

Oh I don't know, their github works. However it seems that it isn't able to deal with more than one ocsp signing key. update_attributes() for a single column
I was just faced with a strange ROLLBACK exception when attempting to execute this code: $ rails console user = User.first User Load (1.1ms) SELECT "users".* FROM "users" ORDER BY "users"."id" ASC LIMIT 1 => #<User id: 1, name: "Michael Hartl", email: "foo-+RB1Aph5k6s@public.gmane.org", created_at: "2013-05-12

Validating the presence of two associated objects from both models
I have a model “Conversation” and a model “Leader”. A Conversation is always led by exactly 1 Leader. I’ve overridden Conversation’s “validate” method to validate the presence of an associated Leader model. If I add a similar validation to the Leader model, however, Conversations can no longer be saved on creation because the Leader model is invalid. On creation of both a new Conversation and

RSpec: controller POST create
Rails 3.1.3 rspec-rails (2.11.4) rspec 2.11.1 I am new to rspec. I don''t quite understand tests for POST create part. I have generated scaffold, and simultaneously it generated controller_spec.rb as well. it "assigns a newly created plan as @plan" do post :create, {:plan => valid_attributes}, valid_session assigns(:plan).should be_a(Plan)

validation, concurrency, and transactions
Hi, Something has been bothering me about model validation: how do I know that the database has not changed in between when I validate my model''s data, and when it actually gets saved to the database? As a simple example, say I have a User model like: class User validates_uniqueness_of :username end When this gets saved to the database, the validation code checks that there is
