OpenSSH + PADL pam_ldap.so + password aging
First, my config: Solaris 8 PADL pam_ldap v165 and pam_nss v211 OpenSSH 3.7.1.p2 All compiled with gcc 2.95.3 that ships with the Sun companion CD LDAP PAM authentication is working well with OpenSSH, privsep is disabled, challenge-response authentication is enabled. I would like to turn on password aging, which seems to be well supported by pam_ldap. Logins going through /bin/login correctly

SIP KEEPALIVES, with QUALIFY and without making UNREACHABLE
Need SIP KEEPALIVES in Asterisk, but QUALIFY won't presently work for you (due to it's channel disabling behavior)? Someone posted on the list that they would like to split "keepalives" and "qualify" into different features. Sounds like a good plan, but until that is done you can turn "qualify=" into a keepalive mechanism, without disabling your channels.

Solaris nss_ldap vs PADL nss_ldap
Hi All, Any thoughts on why, while everything seems ok at the OS level (getent , id -a ) Samba doesn't pickup any supplementary groups when Solaris is configured with 'group: files ldap' in nsswitch.conf and using it's own native nss_ldap.so.1 but does when using PADL's nss_ldap? Everything else is equal. Do they use/accept different calls or could it be an

Samba RPMs for RedHat/FC and idmap_rid
As discussed previously on this list, Samba RPMs for Fedora Core do not include idmap_rid support. This is also true for older RedHat distributions. SuSE on the other hand, seems to have been patching in idmap_rid support since 3.0.5 or so; and with trusted domain support, to boot. Harrumph. I've been able to rebuild samba srpms on FC2 and RedHat 8 by patching the samba distributed rpms,

vpn multihoming
Hello all, I have a linux router with 2 interfaces(eth0 - ISP and eth1 - LAN). I''ve established a VPN connection(openvpn) over eth0 with a friend of mine => tun0 interface. I want half of my LAN to have Internet access through the eth0 interface and the other half through the tun0 interface. I''ve set up a script like the "load balancing split access" instructions

btw - I installed your x86_64 rpms that has the ich9 patch directly on that box but it still will not boot without all the options. --- Michael Rock <mikerocks65 at yahoo.com> wrote: > > David wrote: > > Now there are right md5sums and even > > x86_64 iso.delta. > > David > > I tried using applydeltaiso and it creates a 2gb ISO > but I notice it fails on

Asterisk trunk/1.6 and nvfaxdetect
I'll begin working on full cross-version support (Asterisk 1.2, 1.4, and 1.6) in early May for nvfaxdetect and a handful of other modules. Bitrate problem
Thanks all for your prompt reply. I agree with Alex. I think jitter buffer will have to drop packets if its input bitrate is higher than it is configured for. I never tried speex jitter buffer. What does it do when input bitrate is higher or lower ? As an alternate solution, I was thinking to play with directsound playrate [using SetFrequency()]. Has anyone used it to solve such problem? Any

Fwd: Follow Up - Problem with groups & joining domain.- LDAP
Follow up to original post. If I created local groups and users in /etc/passwd & /etc/groups I get farther along. For instance, if I have a Samba PDC with LDAP basically like I listed in my post. If I browse from a w2k pro box to the samba server without the workstation having joined the domain, I can authenticate to the samba server with a user who is not in /etc/passwd but is in LDAP. So

speex voice seems to be bit breaking over long distance.
Hi, Ok, what you suggest sound logical to me. Currently, I have done a small trick to prevent this problem. What I did is that whenever windows request a voice packet from me and if I do not have the voice packet, I repeat the previous packet. Hence, all the breaking portion is filled with previous packet. This trick seems to work so far. I am not sure what is the side effect. I think jitter

need to remove domain from Winbind group entries
Hi, I have server setup as BDC on a subnet different from the PDC. The BDC can auth fine against the PDC and they can browse each other just fine. The problem is on Unix side of the BDC. When I do a 'wbinfo -g' or 'getent group' each group fit the format 'DOMAIN\group_name' and the PDC does not. This is causing problems when synchronizing as the group perm is being set

:filter_html and :hard_breaks makes <br> ...weird
hi! never posted to a mailing list before so I hope this is an appropriate use. Love redcloth btw! I guess I just have a bug report though... if I turn on hard_breaks and filter_html, all the <br />s turn into <br>s. weird. For now I''m just doing this which is fine: textilized = RedCloth.new(text, [ :filter_html, :hard_breaks ]) return
