installation of package "randomForest" failed
Hello
I'd like to try out some functions in the package randomForest. Therefore,
I did install this package. However, it is not possible to load the
library, although I have R-Version 2.1.1 (i.e. later than 2.0.0). The
commands I used and the Answers/Error from R is as follows:

install.packages("C://Programme//R//rw2011//library//randomForest_4.5-16.zip",

openssh - run as another user
For security, many systems are configured so you cannot log directly as root via the initial authentication in openssh.
What is usually done is that you log onto as your normal login and once you get a interactive shell you su to root to
run the command that requires root.
Does openssh have a more elegant way of exec'ing a command as root so I can run the command
non-interactively? I know:

Authentication Problem...
Hi All,
I am sure that you have all read this email a thousand times before, but I am
having problems getting the information together and checking that what I think I can do, can be done :)
At the moment, we currently have 3 or 4 sources of authentication. We have Novell thats used or all users, OpenLDAP thats used for all mail accounts and
some NT accounts that are used for things like

Samba and ADS authentication problems
Hey folks,
I'm having trouble with AD integration with the version of Samba
included in Solaris build 78 (Samba version 3.0.25a). I think it's
almost working, but I get an authentication prompt every time I try to
connect to samba from a windows client, and no matter what I enter I
can't authenticate to see the shares.
The main documentation I've been using is Sun's guide

URL error when trying to use help function in R [Sec: UNOFFICIAL]
Greetings,
I am using R version 2.11.1 on a Dell computer, via a VMware connection to a remote server. My browser version is IE 8.0.6001.18702 and the OS is some corporate version of Microsoft XP.
I'm trying to learn more about the tapply function , so I typed ?tapply into the command line. This opened up a browser window with url http://127.0.0.1:28138/library/base/html/tapply.html which is

failing to select a subset of observations based on variable values [Sec: UNCLASSIFIED]
Greetings all.
I'm starting analysis in R on a reasonably sized pre-existing dataset, of 583 variables and 1127 observations. This was an SPSS datafile, which I read in using the read.spss command using the foreign package, and the data was assigned to a data.frame when it was read in. The defaults in read.spss were used, except I set to.data.frame = TRUE.
The data is a survey dataset (each

2GB File size limit in scp. ver 2.9p1 and 2.5.2
Hi,
I need to be able to use scp with files over 2GB.
I've currently got a set of boxes running 2.5.2p2, and this is unable, as I
understand it, to transfer these files.
I've just downloaded the latest snapshot, 20010501, it complies fine on two
rh7.1 machines, but again, I can't scp a file over 2GB. I get the same "file
to large" error on the client as before.

problem with displaying large number of large file names
We have been using Samba for 4 or 5 years. The server has done its
function well.
Now, I'm trying to upgrade from 2.0.3 to 3.0.x
==> We serve files with large file names (80 characters). We can see all
file names on our 2.0.3 server but cannot on the 3.0.x implementation.

RE: Samba and ADS authentication - can't change filepermissions
Answering my own question again, after several days of searching I've
again found the solution within minutes of posting a question here.
The answer to the NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE is that you need to create the
/etc/krb5/krb5.keytab file:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5216293&messageID=9877661
And the windows permission setting problem appears to be due to a lack

Samba PDC not creating roaming profiles
Hi All,
I have recently moved my PDC from a linux suse 7.0 box to a
Solaris 8 server. I have downloaded the samba 2.2.8a and
installed it without any errors.
I used my old smb.conf and made the neccasry changes to it, I
have pasted it below.
I don't receive any errors, it just ends up using a local profile and
doesn't bother to update it to the server.
I have looked at countless

Windows permissions and inheritance
Does anybody have experience of running Samba on a domain and getting
inherited file permissions on a Samba server to more closely match the
permissions you would see on a Windows 2000 box?
I'm trying to reproduce our departmental folders on a Samba box, running
on ZFS with NFSv4 ACL's, but I'm struggling to get inherited permissions
working properly when new files are created.
