CIFS Issue When Copying Large/Many Files From CentOS To Remote Windows 2003 Server Share
My first post to the list, hope the community can help me, I am having a problem with CIFS:VFS.
I am trying to write large files (and a lot of files) from my Cent OS 5.3 server to a remote Windows 2003 Server share. It appears there might be some incompatibilities between how the two OS's individually implement CIFS, maybe.
I automount the remote share via /etc/fstab and have the

Odd behavior since upgrading to 4.9.6
About a week and half ago I upgraded from 4.0.12 to 4.9.6. Overall, things are functioning.
However, I have come across several strange behaviors and wandered if anyone else has noticed similar behavior on 4.9.6 or has any suggestions of what might be occurring.
As background information, I have 3 DCs (dc3, dc4 and dc5) -- all running the same version (4.9.6) and all have the same configuration;

Ten second intermittent delay on login
Hi, folks,
We're experiencing an odd ten-second delay intermittently when logging
into any of our Linux boxes which authenticate against LDAP. Here's where
it happens:
Jul 13 11:54:23 console2 sshd[1853]: debug1: temporarily_use_uid: <my
uid\gid> (e=0/0)
Jul 13 11:54:35 console2 sshd[1853]: debug1: trying public key file <my key
file>
My assumption is there's

Auto-expunge
Hi,
For some time we've been intermittently experiencing a problem whereby
dovecot often automatically expunges "deleted" messages. This has happened
across several mailboxes. The problem is proving difficult to isolate as
it's seemingly non-deterministic in nature. One commonality, however, is
that the "auto-expunge" seems to occur with greater frequency on

Polycoms lose registration and won't re-register
For the last few months we have intermittently been experiencing some very
strange registration problems with certain polycom phones.
Here is some background information:
I have about 150 Polycom Soundpoint IP 600s, 601s, and 650s spread between 8
servers at different locations. Each phone is on the same network (and
subnet) as the server it connects to. There is no NAT or anything else

Teliax Down?
Is anyone else experiencing trouble with Teliax? I can only intermittently
register to, and am not able to place any outgoing calls through my assigned
gateway; voip-co3.teliax.com.

Réf. : Slow file copying from Server to clients
Hi !
Did you try modifying socket options in smb.conf (generally : socket
options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_KEEPALIVE SO_RCVBUF=8192
SO_SNDBUF=8192) ? Look at Samba-Howto-Collection.html for more details...
I hope this will help...

Slow file copying from Server to clients
Hi,
I have posted this issue once but have not yet had a reply to it. Not sure
maybe no one has an answer but I will try again.
I have a linux box running SuSE 8.2 with samba 2.2.7-a58. Everything works
well except when clients workstations copy files to their workstations, in
particular my client running Mac OS X. Mac OS X supports the SMB protocol. I
had a look at the logs but could not see

Problems copying some files from windows to linux
Hi,
This might not be entirely samba server related, but the problem I am
experiencing is affecting a planned implementation of a new Samba
Server, and from the smbmount man page, it appears that this is the
recommended list to reqest help - so hopefully someone might be able to
assist :-).
I am running a Debian Linux machine (kernel 2.6.0) with Samba 3.0.1
which will soon be replacing an

Intermittent Internal Error Signal 11 with 3.0.24

We're experiencing some issues with our Samba 3.0.24

A bit of background. We have 3 application environments,
which consist of a Samba host providing file sharing

Protocol stream error copying extended attribute, silent failure to copy all data
I'm using rsync 3.0.7 on Mac OS X 10.6, compiled with HFS+ enhancements
according to Mike Bombich's instructions at
http://www.bombich.com/rsync.html. Rsync repeatedly exits with a protocol
data stream error on some com.apple.FinderInfo extended attributes. While
testing this issue, I found that rsync is not copying all extended
attributes even when there is no error message. I'm using
