TKEY is unacceptible [SEC=UNOFFICIAL]
UNOFFICIAL Hi, I have a SAMBA4 box (CentOS 6.5, SAMBA 4.1.7) that joined a 2003 domain and I have transferred (not seized) all FSMO roles to the samba box. I demoted the 2003 DC (had to forceremoval). The Samba box now is the sole DC and DNS server on the network. I followed the instructions in https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2014-February/097703.html for repairing the domain

trouble joining AD domain.
Hi all, I'm running samba-3.0.25b w/Linux 2.6.16.27 (SUSE 10.1), newly compiled. I've joined the AD domain (which is a subdomain) whose PDC is Win2K3 server and which is running in native mode but allowing NT4 members. From the HOWTO, I followed the instructions - manually created the computer account, then did the "net rpc join ...." and successfully joined the AD

tkey-gssapi-credential and bind (Samba4)
So I am in step 10 of the samba4 howto (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO#Step_10_Configure_kerberos_DNS_dynamic_updates); my bind9 is 9.7.3 which seems to be current enough for this. In it we are to add tkey-gssapi-credential "DNS/samdom.example.com"; tkey-domain "SAMDOM.EXAMPLE.COM"; to /etc/bind/named.conf.options. Since my test domain is test.domain.com,

new user cannot logon
hi all, I've set up a samba3.0.3 as pdc for my w2k-domain with ldapsam-backend (cyrus-sasl, heimdal) on suse9.0. everything worked fine. but yesterday the /dev/sda1 (/homes; xfs file system) crashed, when I created a new user with smbldap-useradd. I could repair the xfs file system and everything seemed fine. to test the system I've created a new user. but the new user cannot logon.

Samba as Domain Member Server Authentication Problem
I've been working for hours with Samba on Ubuntu Server 9.10 (Samba version 3.4.0), trying to get it setup simply as a fileserver that performs authentication to an NT 4 server (yes, I know, old and out of date). After much struggling, I finally realized that my configuration *was* working when the clients connecting (from XP, and Win2k clients, mostly) were actually joined to the domain

Samba 3.0 question, DOMAIN vs. SERVER method? Help!
Hello all! We are attempting to get Samba-3.0.10 working on a new Solaris 8 machine in preparation for upgrading an existing 2.2.8 installation (both use the SMCsamba packages from SunFreeware.com). We copied over the smb.conf file and the usermap from the Samba-2 installation, and seeing some weird symptoms when Windows users try to connect to the new machine. We ran "net join" to

Hello folks, It seems that I am still having the trust issues I encountered with 3.0.28a with 3.0.30. My production servers are running 3.0.28 and that is working very well. Thanks in advance for any help or advice. - Franz Basic setup: Win NT4 PDC domain trusts an AD-mixed mode accounts domain Samba server member of NT4 domain and running winbind for auth When I call id <username> I

3.4.0 Samba box w/ NT 4 PDC and Win 95 client
Hi guys, Thanks for those of you whole kept reading after seeing the subject line -- I know, it's like a flashback to about 2000 or so, but for mostly uninteresting reasons, I've got a situation that I wanted to run by the list just in case there's a work around. I have an NT 4 server that's the PDC that my new Samba box, running 3.4.0 w/ "security = domain" uses to

Trouble adding new users with samba 3.0
Mandrake 9.1, Samba 3.0 (used rpm's) I just upgraded one of my pc's to samba 3.0 today. The issue is that all existing users before the upgrade can log onto the samba pdc with no problems. However any new users that I add cannot log on. I thought that maybe something had gone wrong so I uninstalled 3.0 and any remnants of 2.2.8 and did a clean install of samba 3.0. After installing, the

Hello, I'm running Mandrake 9.2 and Samba-3.0.2a I'm connecting a Samba Server as a Domain member to an 2003 ADS, called TEST2. I've been able to create the computer account. Samba 3.6.9 on Centos 6.4 and very slow first access to fileserver
Hello good people, I am fighting with following issue: our users are complaining about very slow/delayed displaying of main folders during accessing server using \\dns.name.of.server (using \\IP or \\netbios_name is it with same slowness). But once they are authenticated, displaying contents of (sub-)folders are getting normal. Once the user hit "enter" key on

Sporadic Homedirs lost
Hi List, since the upgrade of a LDAP based PDC/BDC system to PDC/BDC and fileserver we have problems with users sporadic loolsing their homedirs. These events are unreproducible and only sporadic. Only the homedir not any of the other shares mounted from the fileserver are subject to this connection breakoff. The logs seem to suggest the username has been "forgotten" by the
