Samba/Kerberos problems: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
I have followed directions in a recent article in Sysadmin magazine, "Wedding Samba to an Active Directory Domain', but I cannot connect to the samba server... The samba server is able to get a ticket from the KDC, and access a samba share on a windows client using Kerberos for authentication.... However, no machine is able to connect to my samba server. I could not connect using a

krb5-1.2.8 on cygwin + kerberized ssh
I have made a bit of progress since I compiled krb5-1.2.6. ./configure --with-cc=gcc --without-krb4 --disable-dns-for-kdc It would be nice if there was an option to just compile client stuff. The resolv library problem went away. I don't know if that was a change to krb5 or to cygwin. Bison problems also went away. Still need to add #include <errno.h> to

Problems connecting to server from Windows side of Linux/Windows network
In my network's current setup I have a Linux based KDC which provides the TGT to the machines on the network (dual boot Linux/Windows boxes) and they use this to get the TGS from the Active Directory. When I login to the Active Directory domain I can access the shares on the samba server. However, if I try to connect to the Realm I cannot get access to the shares. Any idea what I need to

Using kerberized SSHD. Question.
I have a kerberized SSHD installed on HOST-1, a login server for the outside world. How can I make it so users are still authenticated via kerberos, even though they haven't yet received a ticket? The main reason for this is that a user who is at home, no vpn, but has an ssh client could then login and be authenticated by kerberos using password authentication, get a ticket, then be allowed

Kerberized NFS4 w/AD 2008 R2
Is anyone currently using CentOS 5.5 with 2008 R2 AD authentication and a fully Kerberized NFSv4? If so would you mind sharing your configuration with me? I have been able to successfully get it working with Windows 2003 as discussed earlier on the list http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2010-July/096374.html With the exception that I had to use dynamic UIDs on the machine since we

pdb_ldap.c Compilation Errors during "make"
I was following these directions: http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/compiling.html for compiling Samba from source and it ran smoothly. However, I realized that to have Active Directory support I needed to install some Kerberos and LDAP packages and recompile. I ran ./configure and, like it says in the instructions, lines like these: #define HAVE_KRB5 1 #define

adding and updating DNS entries on a Win2003 AD server
I'm trying to create/update DNS records on a Windows 2003 server from a Linux (Debian) client. The situation is this: - a Linux workstation, that gets its IP from a DHCP server - a completely separate Windows 2003 AD server, that handles DNS for workstations (mainly laptops) in our domain The DHCP server is owned by IT and is totally outside our control, so no possibility of doing it

NT coexistence scenario with kerberized SAMBA and MIT single-signon
Hello, thanks for the time to read this. I am doing a proof of concept in the following context. I have a NT 4.0 domain and because I don't want AD, I am moving towards a MIT Kerberos managed domain which still gives me SSO and thru kerberized SAMBA, file sharing. What I have setup so far is XP workstations SSO into the MIT Kerberos domain, I can access shares on the Samba server

kerberized ssh on Mac OS X?
Sigh. Is anyone here working getting K5 kerberized ssh onto Mac OS X? I'm having trouble building with the Apple krb5 and OS X include files - seems fp.h gets sucked in by something, and it's got it's own idea of what "log()" is... Is there a better place to ask this question? Be gentle, please. Thanks. --paw Pat Wilson paw at ucsd.edu
