Problems with 'ntlm_auth --require-membership-of' using Samba 3.0.6
Hi there, I'm trying to configure Squid to use a windows domain for authentication, and all goes well until I add the "--require-membership-of" option on ntlm_auth. I need to restrict access based on group membership, however ntlm_auth does not seem to be behaving correctly. I'm using Samba 3.0.6 on Debian and I'm using a Windows 2000 (SP4) Domain Controller. I

ntlm_auth with require-membership-of not working
Hi, The latest samba from sernet was installed on a new CentOS server. ntlm_auth is implemented with pptpd. ntlm_auth always return success whenever group, username and password are correct. No matter the user is in the group or not. Is it a bug or I missed something? The following is detail of my settings and testing result from command line. OS: CentOS 6.4 Samba version:

NTLM_AUTH "require-membership-of" local groups?
I'm running Samba 3.0.9 on Fedora Core. I can authenticate against global groups via ntlm_auth, but authentication against local groups fails. Our network consists of multiple NT 4.0 domains. 1. Can ntlm_auth authenticate against local groups, or is it limited to global groups? 2. Can multiple global groups be designated as arguments to 'require-membership-of' in an 'OR'

Testing domain group membership
Is there a samba command (using net, wbinfo, or whatever) to allow one to test whether a user is a member of a particular (domain) group? I know that $ net user info returns the groups that a user is a (direct) member of, but for my immediate purposes, that is not sufficient (we're using nested groups). I also know that ntlm_auth has the --require-membership-of=STRING option, but it also

Problem wiht built in JS libary
Hi, I am trying to add a page effect using the built in javascripts. The effect im trying to create is when a user clicks a link the current page content slides up, then the new content slides down. This all works great in firefox, but in IE between the slide up and slide down, you see a quick flash of the content, and it really spoils the whole effect. Here is the code im using. This is one

Problem installing printer driver wiht samba
Hi, I'm trying to "install" the printer drivers of my HP Inkjet 3000 PS Printer on a linux running samba and lprng. So far configuration of samba seems correct (working print$ and so on), but the adddriver command issued cia rpcclient terminates with NT_STATUS_UNSUCEDDFULL. So far my search in the web was unsucessful. I think I have correctly traced the problem via the samba

Problem wiht mvbutils and timeDate in R 2.12
Dear list, We have encountered problems with the package mvbutils while creating (or reading from disk) timeSeries objects. Below is a very simple example of the problem. We are using R 2.12 in  a PC running Windows 7  64-bit Professional. ----------- library(timeSeries)   cv1 <- as.character(as.Date(1:10, origin = "1970-01-01")) ts1 = timeSeries(1:10, cv1, units = NULL)

tweak a bit the legend wiht ggplot2
Hi all, I've this ggplot2 graph (http://www.4shared.com/file/120101043/f3e9350/isotherm.html). I'd like to tweak the legend for the adsorbent part. I'd like to have full square of the colors instead of the full circles. I guess that I've to work on the scale_color_hue or fill somewhere but I haven't found my way yet. Here is my code to get the graph:

Qos wiht HTB for ADSL/Home
Hi, My home setup is as following: - 1024/128 kbit ADSL - FC3 I set up HTB to prioritize traffic. I am not very pleased with the obtained results. The scope of my setup is to have some ssh sessions with remote servers while browsing websites and running aMule Nothing complicated (I think... ;). The very high priority traffic (ssh), gets stuck when I start aMule and make an FTP download.

NTLM_AUTH failing?
That is client setup. We have that under control. Our Linux users use Network Manager to connect and our Windows users use the stuff built into Windows. My problem is server-side. The server is a PPTP VPN (running via pptpd) and I have to add the lines below to make it work. plugin winbind.so ntlm_auth-helper "/usr/bin/ntlm_auth --helper-protocol=ntlm-server-1" Now, that allows ALL

Logins require local admin membership on Windows XP
Hello, This is my first post to this list so if I break any rules be gentle :) I will try to put in as much detail into this as I can, here I go: We have a domain at work with Samba (samba-3.0.10-1.fc2) as the PDC. The Linux box is running FC2 as the rpm suggests running on a 2.6.5-1.358smp kernel. The problems that we exhibit is that unless you have your domain account made a member of the

squid, ntlm_auth, winbind problem
Hi all, please cc me, i'm not on the list. Second: All google findable information about problems setting up ntlm_auth for squid with winbind are read and checked more than three times. After breaking a running setup under debian squeeze, i go back to debian lenny to circumvent the actual MIT kerberos problem[1]. [1] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=566977#57 Now i

I have some shares on a media server that are considdered "Local, offline content", namely they should be accessible if the rest of the network is down, and each system has it's own group of users who are allowed to maintain it. the media servers in the livingroom are only for my wife and I, but each person can modify the one in their own bedroom and noone elses bedroom.
