Samba 3.0.7 & adding machines. Wrong primary group.
Hi! Some time ago (samba 3.0.1?) I added machines to my domain with 'srvmrg.exe' and all went as I expect. IIRC. If I am now adding machines, all machine-accounts have the initially group "users" set instead of "machines". But they should't. | add machine script = useradd -d /dev/null -g machines -s /bin/false %u This is, because even if adding machines to the

How to change Domain password as normal user?
OK, I'm having issues with the problem. To summarize, I'm trying to have a normal user change his password from a domain member. I've tried: passwd, kpasswd and 'samba-tool user password -U $USER --ipaddress=<IPofAD/DC>'. All mechanisms do change the domain password and I can log into Windows and Linux domain members, and website requiring domain authentication.

Re: Trusting and Trusted Domain Samba LDAP (mapping Home Directories)Problem
Hi Igor, I am no samba expert. Reading your email produce 2 thots. 1. If I have not read wrongly, you DID NOT managed to reproduce my scenario cos when you joined Domain A , login as user of DomB , you got the expected result, the Domain B's sambahomepath and drive gets map to the user B. Mine result was this: I joined Domain A, login as user of Dom B, I did NOT get Domain B's

Re: Trusting and trusted domain (home mapping) problem
Hi Igor, Once again, thanks for keeping up with me. I have been migrating my master ldap server to 2.1 version so to keep it the same with the PDCs version of LDAP. Now they are the same. I have rectified such that "wbinfo -u" on both sides worked now. I am made "net rpc trustdom list" worked. It was not working before. I had to put "stuadmin = root" in the

Re: Trusting and trusted domain (home mapping) problem
Hi Igor, Thanks so much for troubleshooting all this while and we found out none of our configuration is the problem but the source code. Hope that the samba team will modify to a working code so that I can deploy it. Actually my dateline to deploy is coming soon and I do not know what to do now..... when do you think the code will be modified and be released? Thanks so much for your help.

GeForce 8800GT fan control
I have a GeForce 8800GT that I am trying to lower the fan speed on. I can change the fan RPM from high to not-as-high but I want more control over it. It is too loud and it was quieter with the blob. Maybe the temps are too high to make it quieter. # echo 1 >/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/0000:01:00.0/i2c-6/6-002e/pwm1_enable # sensors fam15h_power-pci-00c4 Adapter: PCI adapter power1:

The use of R Commander for beginning students and newbies
Everyone: In the last few months I've noticed an increasing number of questions to this list from students who are new to the use of R and who have limited (in any) local support on R and specifically support for R syntax. My text (http://www.springer.com/statistics/social+sciences+%26+law/book/978-1-4614- 2133-7) from last year was specific to the use of R syntax but given recent

'add/change/delete share command'(s) in smb.conf
Hello. I need to allow one of my users to add & delete shares on my Samba server through the 'server manager' applet on his client . This same user also writes some files to the same Samba server. I don't want the files that he writes to be owned/written by 'root' . The way I understand the 'add share command' currently, this is not possible. Am I missing

can i access module "files" w/o using client-server?
Hi, I''m new to puppet and trying to get started using it just in local mode. My basic question is: how can i reference a static file within the module (eg in the module''s files/ subdirectory, as described in http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ModuleOrganisation). I suppose i could try using a full.absolute path to the file, but that seems to completely defeat the purpose

Where to store custom providers?
Hi, While i''ve read the wiki page on development of custom providers ( http://www.reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ProviderDevelopment), i cannot find information on where the custom provider''s source file should be located. Beside that, multiplexed logical streams suffer from pretty bad software / hardware support, isn't it? It's better to display album art as text if the player doesn't recognize the base64 album art, than being unable to even play the file. ----- Urspr?ngliche Mail ---- Von: Kyungjun Lee <kjoonlee at gmail.com> An: xiphmont at xiph.org CC: vorbis-dev at xiph.org Gesendet:

NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_GROUP when attempting to connect
Hi, I'm attempting to get my server set up to share out files using Active Directory authentication. I also have winbind set up for shell logins to the server. That part works fine, but when I attempt to connect to a samba share with smbclient, I get rejected with "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE". I did some searching and found others with similar issues, and I
